On April 7, 2007 (Da Gama), our guild ~Poseidon~ helped one of our ally namely the BlackKnights defend against the massive and powerful NPCs of Myth. This was my very first WAR experience in Voyage Century Online.

I found out about the WAR through VCOs Official Forum which I frequently visit. I don't post much but I do like to read what's going around the community. I then went online to check on the guild and it's plan and expectedly we will be helping our ally defend.

There was still 5 hours to go before the fight begins so, I decided to log off and take a nap. I almost missed the war. Luckily, I woke up with still a few more minutes to go. I was already rushing. I need to prepare for battle. I repaired my hat, my uniform and my weapon and then purchased 2000 cannon balls. The battle was about to begin so I immediately entered the scene. Once in there, I realized that I forgot to repair my ship. DarkEye, a guildmate, saw it and told me. There was a waiting period so I used that to repair my ship.

I was asked to place my ship infront. I guess they thought that my ship was strong enough to take damage from level 9 ships but the truth is, it's not!

If I remember correctly, there were 30 of us defending and only 9 enemies attacking but they were supported by numerous level 9 or 10 (not sure) NPC ships. How did the enemy guild acquired such military might? Well, that's a different story and I'll tell you about it in another website/blog.

The battle begins and unfortunately, it took only a few seconds for an NPC ship to sink my ship. I didn't even get to fire a single shot. I'm not sure if I was the first to sink but I respawned in-land alone. A few seconds later, allies began respawning one by one. The sea battle phase of the war was over in a few seconds.

Next was the land battle phase. Numerous high level NPCs darted from the port up to where we were. I immediately engaged one of them but I was forced to retreat because the NPC was dealing 120+ damage, even more, to my character. My escape was thwarted when I was mobbed by NPCs and in an instant I was dead and respawned back to the city.

A few moments later, the war was over and it was expected. None of the allied guilds who came in defense of the BlackKnights was hoping to win. Our guild, ~Poseidon~, came to support an ally and support an ally we did.

It was my first war experience in VCO and it was also the first war our guild, ~Poseidon~, participated in. Our guild, my guildmates who joined and I, learned a lot from that experience and the lessons learned from that war will be used to strengthen our guild and ourselves.
