Yesterday, while I was redoing the inside of my place, 3 Stars and a Sun, in Scaramanga, my computer froze for no apparent reason. I waited for a few minutes but getting no activity after that I booted my system. I still didn’t know what happened. I assumed that it was just some random quirks. So, I loaded Second Life again to continue with my work and after a few seconds my computer froze again. I repeated it a few times but got the same result. Thinking that it could be my computer that’s having some problem, I did some test to find out. I cleaned my registry, scanned for viruses, defragged my hard drives, etc. I also cleared my Second Life cache and even downgraded my Second Life client. Nothing worked, my computer still keeps on freezing. Even OnRez freezes my computer.
Other more resource intensive games like Guild Wars and City of Villains ran smoothly but with Second Life it freezes and this only happened yesterday.
Since nothing was working, I stopped trying. My place was left in disarray. Walls with unfinished and non-matching textures and mispositioned objects were everywhere.
Today, I tried again and to my surprise Second Life didn’t freeze my computer. Now, what’s up with that! I didn’t know what happened or what got fixed but I’m so glad it got fixed. I was able to finish the work I was doing at my place.
Yesterday, Second Life was freezing my computer but today it’s running fine. What happened? I guess only God and Linden Labs know the answer to that question. LOL!

i used to camp for a bit when the rate of camping was at 4L$/10 minutes. however nowadays camping isn’t as generous as it is before…so why bother? honestly.
there are lots of worlds to see, plenty of things to do in sl that you wont get to do if you spend most of your time camping. there are certain camping sites that are excemption to the rule, and my next issue will tackle that..;-)
shameless plug…lol.
i have a newbie makeover section in my magazine and it will always sponsor a newbie’s makeover. hodgepodge variety will help the resident look for freebies and great items to help residents out, without spending much L$. we don’t want to camp all our second lives just to look better or have a great Second Life, don’t we?
just my two cents…in my opinion, lucky chairs are better…

That was happening to me until I replaced my Power Supply Unit. It seems that my video card wasn’t getting enough power.

I know this article was posted quite a while ago — but I’ve been having the same problem with SL for a month now — went from working perfectly for a long time to not working at all – my computer freezes and I have to reboot the machine within minutes of logging in. I had changed nothing in the system with the exception of adding 2 gigs ram about a week before the problem started. So frustrating – I’ve updated everything there is to update, scanned everything there is to scan, run diagnostics and registry cleaners and the works… I have several stores in SL that are dying slowly as I can not get in there to tend to them – and LL is practically no help at all… I’ve had like two responses from their tech people in a month on the problem ticket I started with them. Sigh.
