Today I visited Sparta at The Spartan Empire sim. The sim is also owned by mikeD Streeter who is also the owner of The Roman Empire. The Spartan Empire sim is home to Sparta and Mythology but for this post I will be going through Sparta only.
I’ve heard about Sparta some days ago but I was too busy with real life to check it out until now. I teleported to Sparta using a landmark which I got from a group notice. The landing point was just outside the city. You won’t miss the entrance because there’s an image with a photo of a Spartan from the movie 300 just beside it.
The first area that you will visit is the Market. Vendor spaces lined the streets of Sparta. Some of the vendor spaces were already filled, at least it look that way. If you are interested in placing a vendor at Sparta then just send an instant message to mikeD Streeter.
Not far away from where I am was the Arena. The arena in Sparta wasn’t as big and magnificent as the arena at The Roman Empire. There, I met some residents like Gatsby Clawtooth who was kind enough to offer a tour of the place but I kinda prefer to look around the place myself.
I believe that most of the buildings and structures at Sparta were reserved for residential use (don’t hesitate to correct me if I’m wrong). I saw one that was already occupied but many are still empty. Amenities like swimming pools and others can also be found behind some of buildings.
The Spartan Empire is connected with The Roman Empire. In fact, you can walk from Sparta to The Roman Empire from Sparta’s landing point. At the edge of the sim, you’ll also find a path that leads to Mythology which is the other half of The Spartan Empire. There’s also a block of rock that acts like a sign saying something like “Sparta, Population 300″. Now this really had me confused because I didn’t find 300 people in Sparta. If I counted correctly, I only found 4, myself included.
I’m not sure if this Sparta is historically correct but I think it’s still under some development because it didn’t feel complete. I felt the place was too small and there wasn’t anything you can do which you can’t do at The Roman Empire. I guess the purpose was to give people some diversity. If they don’t like to be Romans then they can be Spartans. We might even see some nice conflict between the two groups which could lead to some nice battles. Invasions would be a little more interesting too since the 2 sims are attached to one another, guarding ones territory will become a full time job to some. I guess, we’ll just have to leave all those things to whomever is in-charged.
Anyway, if you are curious about The Spartan Empire then just drop by and take a look. Who knows, you might find it interesting.
