I just found out about this from mikeD Streeter, owner of The Roman Empire and The Spartan Empire sims and AnimateMe! It seems that he just launched a new program or service called Second Life Rewards. So, what is it? Well, Second Life Rewards is a loyalty program for Second Life which offers discounts from partner stores to card carrying members. To make it simple, if you are a member of Second Life Rewards and you buy something from a Second Life Rewards partner store while carrying your Second Life Rewards membership card then you’ll get some discount from your purchase. The discounts available to members are 10%, 15% and 20% of the original price.

This is a great program specially for those who loves to shop. The discounts will definitely save you a lot of linden dollars depending on the cost or value of your purchases.

What is SL Rewards?

SL Rewards is a Loyalty Membership program similar to the ones found in RL, members get discounts at partner stores. Members wearing the SL Rewards Membership Card are automatically detected when purchasing items and are refunded the discount after paying the full amount. People without the card on will not get the discount.

We use a secure script to ensure no one can hack into the system and steal.

Our partners pay a 5% fee to SL Rewards automatically at each purchase that is made by a member.

Partners will benefit from a listing on www.secondliferewards.com in order of level you choose. The levels are:

• Bronze 10% discount
• Emerald 15% discount
• Platinum 20% discount

Please note this system currently won’t work on networked vendors.

It is widely known in RL¹ Loyalty Programs that members spend more and will travel at great lenghts to purchase at places who offer the rewards.

Is the system easy to implement?

There is a little work involved in the beginning, we give you one script and one notecard, these go inside your sales boxes, you only need to edit the notecard for each item, the script does it from there. Unlike Networked Vendors, the item is in the box so no server downtimes to worry about. Also we provide you with step by step photo instructions to help you setup.

Why do I want to put a sign inviting people to join if they are already in my store?

Well for a few reasons, first the percentage of people who TP into your store that will buy will be vastly higher, second they are much more likely to return, loyalty programs have been proven people will spend more than they planned.

Becoming a member is very easy, just follow the steps below and you’ll be find.

• visit the Second Life Rewards in-world office at Animate Me Poseballs (215, 147, 129)
• look for the big blue sign that says “Buy Your Membership Card Here”
• right-click on it and then select buy
• find it in your inventory and wear it

For this week only, as stated by the blue sign’s hover text, Second Life Membership is FREE! So, hurry and register NOW!

How to become a partner of Second Life Rewards?

Becoming a partner is also very easy, just follow the steps below and you’ll be find.

• visit the Second Life Rewards in-world office at Animate Me Poseballs (215, 147, 129)
• look for the big sign that says “Ready To Become A Partner?” (it also says, buy for 0L$ but when I bought mine for testing, the cost was 10L$)
• below the sign are the 3 partner levels
• right-click on the one you like and then select buy
• read the FAQ above to get an idea on how to implement it on your sales boxes

For now, since membership is still FREE, you’ve got nothing to lose and with a lot to gain if you try out and become a member of Second Life Rewards.
