Well, Linden Labs recently released a new First Look Viewer (FLV) named Dazzle and sad to say I was not Dazzled at all. The Dazzle FLV introduced a new color scheme for the viewer’s GUI and although it is an improvement to the regular viewer’s GUI but please it was far from Dazzling. I admit that I like it but it will take more than that to Dazzle me, in fact, OnRez’s Second Life viewer has a more Dazzling GUI, at least for me it is.
[flickr]photo:2282241029[/flickr]If you look at it, there isn’t really anything special about the Dazzle FLV and, except for the color scheme change, everything else is the same but I am going to use it. Why? Because, I’m just sick and tired of the old color scheme, at least, this one is refreshing to look at.
A real improvement would be to allow residents or users to create or apply their own skins to the viewer and this could happen. Maybe not now but somewhere in the future.
Anyway, the aim of Dazzle is to improve the user interface and in some way it did improve it but, like what I’ve said above, it is far from Dazzling. Kudos to Linden Labs for coming up with a FLV name that will surely capture the curiousity of many. LOL!
