The latest e-mail I received from Earn2Life is about their new In-world Linden Dollar Earning HUD which is simply called the E2L HUD. I understand that it will allow Earn2Life members to take offers in-world and after skimming through the e-mail I went in-world to check it out.

Earn2Life’s office in-world is located at the Vargas region. It used to be at Craigvon but they moved and changed that area into a discount shop where they sell mostly items that can be acquired for FREE from various freebie places but that’s a different story.

Anyway, I went there and it took me a few minutes to rez the surrounding area. The device was located inside the office and it’s FREE (L$0), see screenshot to see what the box looks like. To get a copy, just right-click on it and then select Buy.

To wear it, just find in your inventory, right-click on it and then select Wear. It will attached to the top-left most part of your viewer.

The HUD is set to OFF when worn and it also automatically goes back to the OFF setting when the wearer becomes inactive.

How To Use This Thing?

Well, it’s very easy to use. If you are already a member of Earn2Life then just wear it and then touch it to turn it ON but if you are not yet a member of Earn2Life then you can register here.

It will connect to Earn2Life’s server and fetch the list of available offers.

On the HUD, touch the List available offers button to open a dialog box containing the offers. You can accept the available offer by clicking on Start offer! or select other offers by clicking on <<first or Next>>. The number of offers available and the offer’s description is displayed on the dialog box. Offers mostly just ask you to visit a certain place in Second Life and stay a few minutes there.

You will receive a landmark to your destination and once you are there the timer on the HUD will immediately start. You must stay until the specified amount of time in the offer is consumed if not then you won’t get paid.

Another thing is that the HUD constantly check if you are active by asking you to press a red button on the HUD. If you fail to do so then you will be marked as inactive and the HUD will turn itself OFF. This security feature is kinda annoying specially if the location you visited is laggy. For example, I accepted an offer and went to the place given by the landmark. While I was looking around the place, the HUD asked me to press the so called red button. I clicked and clicked on it but nothing happened and because of that the offer was canceled. I tried it twice and both times my offer was canceled because of the same reason of not pressing the red button. I’m sure it was just because of lag but still I wasted a few minutes just going there.

Anyway, Earn2Life’s E2L HUD is another easy way of earning Linden Dollars for your Second Life.
