Second Messenger is a light weight client for Second Life. It is light weight because, just SLeek, it does not have all the eye candy and features found in a regular Second Life client or viewer.
As the name implies, Second Messenger allows you to login into Second Life servers and perform various tasks like chatting with friends and instant messaging, teleporting and other things but the most common use of such programs like this one is bot camping.
Second Messenger has some cool features not available in other light weight SL clients. An example would be the ability to see the subprims of an object (if it is made of multiple prims). Another cool feature but currently not implemented is the ability to see an object’s hover text (if it has any).
The only thing I didn’t like about Second Messenger is that it uses a lot of memory. I’m not sure if it is some kind of memory leak or not but it will drag your system down after a few minutes. If the creator can improve Second Messenger’s memory usage then it will be an awesome light weight client for Second Life.
You’ll also notice that there is a Google Ad below it. I’m not bothered by that because the program is FREE. Creating a program like this takes time and skills and if Ads like those will keep the program Free then I guess it is okay.
Anyway, if you wish to give Second Messenger a try then download it here. Again, if you are not sure about the program or its creator then don’t download it but in my case, I have to download and install it to try it.
