Sight Seeing!
Samurai Japan has enough places, locations or areas to see to keep you busy for hours and the Emperor said that more will be added soon.
In my observation, the different areas or places in Samurai Japan are the Docks, the Arena, the Dojo, the Temple, the Armory and Forge, the Shops and the Residential areas. There is a Bath House but it’s very small and the Emperor said that a Geisha house will be added soon.
The Docks
The docks or port or whatever you want to call it is one of the first area that you’ll see. As I’ve said above, you can rez ships or boats here and sail around the regions.
The Shops
There are various shops at Samurai Japan which are found at various locations but the first ones you’ll see is just besides the landing point. If you are interested in setting up a shop at Samurai Japan then all you have to do is contact mikeD Streeter today and you could be selling your items tomorrow.
The Residential Areas
Of course, houses or homes are also available for rent in Samurai Japan. One very nice thing about the homes here is its location. Some of the homes are situated on cliffs or hills which are overlooking the sea for some great looking views. Currently, rent is at 650L$ per week with a prim limit of 150. Honestly, it’s a luxury even I can’t afford. I’m actually very poor in Second Life, specially now that my main source of income which is First Opinions Panel, is no longer paying for referrals.
The Armory and Forge
Well, it’s not really an armory or a forge in the sense of the words, I just called it that. It’s really like a mini-mall with shops that sells weapons, costumes and armors which are mostly Japanese in style. Examples are Katanas, Kimonos, Samurai and Ninja costumes and others. There are still some spaces available, so again, if you are interested in selling something then just contact mikeD Streeter.
The Temple and The Dojo
We all know what a temple is right? It’s a place for worship but I’m not really quite sure what it is that they do in Japanese Temples. Also, the word Jinja was mentioned, I believe, by Futanari and according to Google, Jinja is a Shinto Shrine. Again, according to Google, Shinto is “the native religion of Japan. Although containing aspects of Buddhism it is a mostly Shamanistic faith which has no religious text and is focused on the worship of ancestors and nature”.
The Dojo is located just behind the Temple and there is a large open space between them. According to the Emperor, the Dojo is where new recruits are trained. This is also where the veterans train themselves for combat. A very small bath house is also located just outside of the Dojo.
The Arena
One of the biggest structure in Samurai Japan is the Arena. The Emperor said that it was built by her sister, the Princess (I forgot the name, sorry). The Arena is where all the fights and tournaments are to be held. Tournaments will be open to all citizens of Samurai Japan but open tournaments where anyone can participate will also be held. DCS is the combat system used in Samurai Japan. So, if you are a good fighter then joining tournaments would be a great source of income in Second Life.
The Arena is divided into three levels. The first level which is the ground floor is where the fights are conducted, the second level is mainly for viewing the fights below and the third level is for viewing, not the fights, but the beautiful scenery Samurai Japan has to offer.
Lights, Camera and Role Play
Being an RP Sim, role playing is almost a requirement for all citizens (although visitors and guests are not required to role play but they are expected to abide by the rules and laws of the land). Shay mentioned that the kind and level of role playing in Samurai Japan is going to be different and more strict than the other RP Sims owned by mikeD Streeter like The Roman Empire.
She also mentioned that clans are an integral part of the role playing process in Samurai Japan although the details of which are still being finalized. For those interested, I guess contacting the Emperor would be the best option since he is also one of the Lead GMs of Samurai Japan. He also provided me with a list of powers available to Role Players in Samurai Japan.

Story lines will also be created to further develop the role play aspects of Samurai Japan but, in the meantime, role playing can be enjoyed by anyone. If you have questions then don’t hesitate to ask questions and do please follow the laws of the land.
Samurai Japain Is Waiting
Samurai Japan is an interesting place to visit and the people who runs it are both friendly and helpful. According to mikeD, Samurai Japan is also a very active region with lots of people visiting at different times of the day.
The Emperor also mentioned that events and other activities are also being planned and it will also involved non-combative events or activities which I think is good because not everyone is into fighting or killing.
More residential areas are also going to be added and unlike with the other neighboring regions residents will be able to purchase land in Samurai Japan.
So, if you are looking for a nice place in Second Life to role play or if you are just looking for a nice place to visit then why not drop by Samurai Japan and become part of its history.
