Today I received a very unexpected message from Seven Shikami, one of the staff and I believe to be the main developer of the 7Seas Fishing Game System. He told me that some people are accusing me of cheating the system. Duh? These narrow-minded residents of Second Life came to that conclusion because I was kinda dominating most of the fishing competitions and also because I was using a modded fishing rod.

You see, you can mod the appearance of any of the 7Seas Fishing Rod BUT you can never modify or edit any of the 7Seas core scripts that make the fishing rod works. I got the idea from someone who was fishing at my place. She was using a one prim stick that acted like a wand. I asked how it was done and she told me that it was as simple as dragging the scripts into another object and in return I made her a simple magic wand. One important thing she forgot to tell me was that transferring the scripts will reset your fishing rod’s stats. I found out about it after transferring my fishing rod’s scripts into my Katana which I later on transferred into my Kendo Stick. I then spent a few hours levelling it up again to level 5. I also replaced the casting animations to match the Kendo stick more.

Unfortunately, these narrow-minded people saw it and I guess they began thinking terrible things about it like maybe that guy is cheating because his fishing rod is different. DUH? For you people with a narrow and dirty mind, Seven openly said to me that he welcomes creative mods for their rods. I guess it’s something you people can’t understand because of your too narrow-mindedness.

Anyway, Seven Shikami asked if he can look at it and I let him. He found that their was nothing wrong with it, that the core scripts were never touched. He also asked me if I wanted to know who reported or accused me of cheating but I just said that I have no problem with that. They know who they are and, guess what, I’m pretty sure that some of them are respected members of the 7Seas Community.  I do not need to know who they are (although I can always ask who) they’ve already shamed themselves with their accusations.

Come on, is it my fault if I win some of the competitions? Here is a TIP, stop using those autocasters and you might find yourselves winning. You are the ones that are cheating.

It’s sad that MOB and CRAB mentality exist in such a great community. Have an open-mind and try to respect each other. Cheating or cheater is a very derogatory label specially if you have no proof. Now I know why most of the people I meet in these competitions don’t even greet me. Sometimes, even the host of the contest would ignore me.

I’ve read many times in group chat that 7Seas should all be about fun. Well, if it’s all about fun then it doesn’t matter who wins the most or not but the truth is, it’s not all about fun, it’s about competition and for those who hadn’t realize it yet, competition is FUN! Now, if you are not winning then don’t take the low road and accuse the one winning of cheating. It’s the losers way out. *sigh*

7Seas is an awesome system and the people behind it are awesome as well. Why can’t the community be as awesome as them?

Anyway, again I would like to thank Seven Shikami for clearing my name and for those who accused me/reported me of cheating and to those that thought badly of me, you’re an adult act like one.

Currently, I’ve asked Seven Shikami to transfer the scripts from the Kendo Stick back to the Fishing Rod. I can transfer them back myself but that will also reset it back to level 0 and i don’t want that to happen. I believe they can transfer it without reseting it. For the meantime, I’m using a new Pro Rod and it’s already at level 4. One more level and It’ll be able to compete with the other rods.
