Today, Medieval England (Medevil England Sim) held a Jousting Tournament. The first time I’ve seen jousting in Medieval England was during their I LOVE ME Tournament and it was the second event of the tournament. This time, it’s all about jousting. No archery and no melee fights. Just jousting!
Gallant Knights who came to fight for the honor of their King!
The announcement was sent an hour before the tournament start but surprisingly only a few knights came. I’m guessing that many of them are busy doing various quests like saving a damsel or slaying a dragon. Anyway, the tournament continued as scheduled. I’m not sure about the exact number of participants but I guess it’s around six or eight.
Joining the tournament is very easy. All you’ll have to do is show up with your horse and lance and that’s it. As far as I know, tournaments in [Medieval England] are open to everyone but joining the group is always advantageous because you’ll get updates on tournaments and other events.
As far as I can see, the matches ran smoothly although one of the participants complained about his lance not working but that was easily resolved, I think. I’m no expert in jousting or fighting but I can safely say that fighters should alway check and test their equipments and tools (swords, lances, shields, bows, etc.) before entering an arena or battlefield. If your equipment fails then you only have yourself to blame because you didn’t check and test them before using them. Besides, even in real life, equipments can fail during an event and in Second Life always expect the worst to happen.
The King was a few seconds, or was it minutes, late!
Again, the King of Medieval England, Enrich Halasy, was there eventhough he was kinda late and the only other familiar name that I saw there was the name of Sashay Segall. The others were all new or unfamiliar to me.
Anyway, I had a good view of the event eventhough I was on a cliff where the castle of the French Empire is located. Medieval England and the Empire of France are neighbors. If you are at the edge of the sim facing Medieval England or France then you’ll be able to clearly see what’s happening on the other side. Actually, that’s what makes RPG Empire great. It has interconnecting sims that complement each other enabling for smooth RP and combat transitions.

This was England’s first organized joust where it was jousting only. We recently collaborated with SL Jousting Association to host a weekly joust. This means bringing in knights from all over SL, not just RPG Empires, which is a good thing. Not only will Medieval England get recognition from other sims, but RPG Empires will too, hopefully bringing traffic and new RPers throughout the empires.
We also just put in a new jousting system, with syncronized opening gates and horn…we are very excited about it! Also, our new horse vendor is none other than AKK themselves…a huge kudos to England!
Look for a weekly organized joust from Medieval England! And I hope to see many more new faces!
