A few days ago I received an e-mail from Franks Martinek about their research panel in Second Life called eLab City Panel for the University of California (Riverside). Currently, they are looking for members to build up a panel of future research participants and that they will pay each resident who signs up 100L$.

It sounded interesting so I went to their office in-world to check it out and to learn more about their research panel, besides, it’s an easy 100L$ if I sign up which I did. Below is a brief introduction about what eLab City Panel is.

The eLab City Panel is a group of Second Life residents who have agreed to participate in academic research studies related to virtual worlds. These studies are run by faculty and graduate students at the Sloan Center for
Internet Retailing, University of California, Riverside. Residents who opt-in to the eLab City Panel will be contacted from time to time, and invited to participate in non-commercial, academic research projects.

Anyway, joining eLab City Panel is FREE and you’ll also be entered into their weekly prize drawing where you can get a chance to win up to 25,000L$. So, if you are interested then just drop by eLab City Panel’s office in-world to learn more about it and to sign up afterwards.
