A few days ago Medieval England celebrated their first Harvest Faire (I think it was their first) and I was their to enjoy the festivities. The Harvest Faire was a two day all day event with games, prizes and barrels of ale for everyone to enjoy.

I was more of a spectator than a participant on the first day of the event. I spent most of my day just watching the games and taking snapshots of the activities. Unfortunately, some of my snapshots did not get uploaded. I was uploading my snapshots by sending them by e-mail to Flickr. Flickr then crossposted them to my Blogger blog but Flickr was not able to save a few of them. It must be because of lag or something.
Personally, I had a great time at the Harvest Faire. My most favorite part of the entire event was the dunking of King Enrich Halasy. Lady Sashay was histerical. She really enjoyed dunking the King into the water.
On the second day, I was more active. I participated in Archery, Jousting, Horseback Race and Horseback Melee Fighting and because I was participating, I was not able to take any snapshots. LOL!
When I joined those contests, I didn’t expect to win in any of them but, to my surprise, I won in Jousting. It was my first time to joust and I was still not sure about how it works. I guess that’s what you call, beginner’s luck! The prize for winning the Jousting contest was a brand new and very shiny Templar Sword. The sword looks really nice specially when sheathed but I had a hard time using it in combat.
I also received a prize for the Joke contest but the fun was disrupted when a Squire Rhyno blew the whistle and told everyone where I was getting my jokes. Oh well, at least I got a prize and the prize that I got was a Box of Ancient Helms.
As expected, I didn’t perform well in the Horseback Fighting contest and even in the Foot Melee Fighting contest which was held on the first day of the Harvest Faire. I remember, asking Oki Dufaux what his secret is in fighting because he is a real monster when it comes to Melee Fights. Unfortunately, I don’t think he likes me because I didn’t get a reply. LOL! Anyway, King Enrich was kind enough to explain a lot of things about sword fighting to me.
On the final Horseback Fight of the second day, I entered the arena forgetting to turn on my DCS. I think that was the second time I entered a fight with my DCS turned off. It’s a little bit embarrassing. LOL
The Harvest Faire celebration was ended with a ball and the Knighting of one of the Squire (I think it was Buri). I tried to attend the event but there were so many people in the sim that my lag level was unbearable. After waiting a few minutes to rezz, I decided to go back home.
I would say that Medieval England’s Harvest Faire was a big success. It started slow but as the day moved forward it picked up phase with people coming in to join the celebration. Even my friend Boying Ansar came and participated in a couple of contests (Archery, Foot Race and Horseback Race).
More celebrations like this one will be held in Medieval England so if you don’t want to miss out on the fun then drop by Medieval England today.
