I learned today that [RPG Empire] will soon close the Empire of France sim. Unfortunately, the sim was never active. It remained inactive and idle upto this day. I’ve been there a few times and I’ve never met anyone there except for the Queen. I remember that the sim tried to look for roleplayers to fill up various positions but I guess none applied.
The sim also remained underdeveloped with only a few things here and there. I guess development is limited by the limits imposed by the sim itself. I think what mikeD can do is, rather than having multiple Open Space sims as empires, it would be better to have another full sim like [The Roman Empire] and [The Spartan Empire]. Both empires are really doing great with continous activity throughout the day.
Anyway, it’s always sad to see a sim close but sometimes it just have to be closed even if you don’t want to and with the current changes in the pricing of Open Space sims I feel that many Open Space sims will soon close. If you are not updated with the latest news about the grid and second life then I suggest that you head on over to Second Life’s official blog.
Currently, RPG Empire is down to three empires. Two are owned by mikeD Streeter (The Roman Empire and The Spartan Empire) and one is owned by Enrich Halasy (Medevil England). As I’ve said above, [The Roman Empire] and [The Spartan Empire] are doing great and [Medieval England] (Medevil England) is getting some activity now. In fact, I am finding myself spending a lot of my SL time in there because I’m enjoying there Jousting and Horseback FIghting Tournaments. The Roman and Spartan empires also have regular activities like Fighting Tournaments, RP and Combat Classes and others.
Below are a few snapshots of the Empire of France.
