Heads up everyone! Linden Labs is going to give away a $10,000 prize to the most innovative inworld Second Life project. To be clear, that’s “Ten Thousand US Dollars” and not “Ten Thousand Linden Dollars” but it will be paid in Linden Dollars. So, how much is that in Linden Dollars? Well, how much it is isn’t important what’s important is that’s a lot of money and you can get a chance to take it all home with you.

There are already many projects in Second Life that has changed how we deal with our daily virtual lives and now Linden Labs wants to recognize these projects and the accomplishments made by us, the users. So, if you got an idea for an amazing inworld project then start working on it today. Remember, you don’t have to do it alone. You can always form a team and collaborate.

Now, this contest is open to all Second Life residents so if you got an idea for a really amazing project then better start cranking to transform that idea into reality or, in this case, virtuality. LOL!

Applications have started today and it will close on January 15, 2009. The Finalists and Winner will be announced not later than April 30, 2009. If you are wondering what the criteria are then here they are:

• Work in Second Life that also achieves tangible, compelling results outside of Second Life.

• Distinctive, original work using Second Life that clearly demonstrates high quality, execution, function, aesthetics and technical sophistication.

• Work that has the capacity for inspiring and influencing future development, knowledge, creativity, and collaboration both inside and outside of Second Life.
