Gandy Kidd of [The Roman Empire] sent out a notice for a “Defend the Hill Top” tournament. It sounded really cool, right? Of course it is, unfortunately, it was just a Free For All tournament with an obstacle in the center of the arena floor. Actually, if you remove the pyramid like hill then it’ll just be an ordinary Free For All tournament because the hill has no real purpose. The only thing that was different was that a few fighters will start fighting on top of the hill while the others fight on the arena floor. Why not just let everyone fight on the floor?
The way I see a “Defend the Hill Top” tournament is like this. All fighters will start on the arena floor. When the command to fight is given, they will all run and climb up the hill while fighting there way up. Once they are up there, they will have to fight off all the other fighters who are climbing up and trying to get up there as well. In other words, the fighters or fighter who gets up there first will have to “Defend the Hill Top”, for a set amount of time, to win. The amount of time he needs to stay on top can be 30 seconds to a minute or to whatever the tournament master wants it to be.
Of course, someone, maybe a fight/tournament moderator or someone credible, will have to time each fighter who gets on top. I know this will be a hard task but if they can make it work then it will be very interesting and be very challenging as well.
By the way, this is just my idea of what a “Defend the Hill Top” tournament should be like because the one I watched in The Roman Empire is really just a Free For All tournament with an obstacle in the center of the arena floor. Ooops! I think I said that already. Ha ha ha! Silly me!
Anyway, the winner of today’s “Defend the Hill Top” tournament was Olivier Jehangir and he took home the 250L$ prize. Congratulations! Don’t spend it all in one place, okay?
Tournaments, fights, battles and other events are just common happenings in [The Roman Empire]. So, if you think you are good with your swords then prove it by fighting in [The Roman Empire] Colosseum.
