Graphic Problems with Greenlife Emerald Viewer

I haven’t used the Greenlife Emerald Viewer that much since Snowglobe was released. I know, Greenlife Emerald has loads of features and goodies but, for some reason, I like using Snowglobe more than any other viewers. Anyway, I remembered downloading GreenLifeSetup_1-23-4-206-cryo.exe and decided to install and update my Greenlife Emerald Viewer with it. After installation, I logged in and I noticed that the viewer’s graphics were messed up.

The two snapshots above show how the graphics and images looked in my Greenlife Emerald install. In the first photo, some of the images were distorted and in the second photo the wing of the chicken did not load properly.I really don’t know how to fix this and I am sure it wasn’t my graphics card since everything looks good with Snowglobe (and with the official viewer). What I did is, I went to Greenlife Emerald’s website, downloaded and installed the latest release which is GreenLifeSetup_1-23-4-439.exe. After the installation, I logged back in and everything was back to normal. The issues I’ve experienced with the previous release were gone and textures or images loaded as it should.

The Greenlife Emerald Viewer has lots of features and I guess my most favorite of them all is the Radar. In fact, it was the reason why I used it in the first place. Kirsten’s Viewer also has a built-in Radar but Greenlife Emerald’s Radar has more options and displays more information about a resident.

Anyway, if you would like to try out the Greenlife Emerald Viewer then download it directly from Modular Systems.

Update: Hmmmm… It seems that I still have some minor graphics issues with Greenlife Emerald as seen in the photos below.

In the first picture, one of my vendor’s display texture suddenly changed into a skin texture of a head and, in the second picture, a few of the guy’s hair texture did not load. I don’t encounter these problems with Snowglobe or with the official viewer. I guess it’s back to Snowglobe for me. :)

I have recently installed new Win 7 64 bit on my Core 2 Quad, with 6 GB ram, and with ATI Radeon HD 4650. And suddenly Emerald seems to have graphics issues. the textures don't look nice and sculpties look jagged even with ultra settings. I also have Viewer 2.0 and things look fine in that.

Hate to say it - but hard to be sure, since it *LOOKS* like you picked up a copy of CryoLife the first time - which is considered one of the iffier clients out there (and often banned).
  • Problem has been resolved already and it has nothing to do with CryoLife.

Strange, reverse for me, snowglobe crashed constantly, whereas emerald works well. This would be a more useful article if you posted your system specs.

I am having the same problem on the mac version. Mostly with sculpted textures. I am also seeing some borderline psychedelic images :D

Strange.... I just downloaded the newest GreenLife Emerald viewer, along with it support file, earlier this evening and it works beautifully... as have every other iteration of the viewer I have ever used. Might want to check your graphics drivers.. :-)
