Remove 7Seas Items? What are you talking about?

A few minutes ago, I received an IM (instant message) from Sweegy Manilow asking me to remove 7Seas items from my Local Catch Distributor and saying that 7Seas items are not allowed in Neo-Realms system. My immediate reaction was, HUH?

Yes, I do have items in my Local Catch Distributor but all of them are custom items I created. In fact, I currently have 12 of my custom items in my Local Catch Distributor and I have listed them below.

2. *KK* Fishing 4 Money Shirt Black (Boxed) – (Uncommon)
3. *KK* Fishing 4 Money Shirt White (Boxed) – (Uncommon)
4. *KK* Fairy Buddy – Ariadna (Boxed) (Rare)
5. *KK* MM Board Slapper Fishing Rod (Boxed) – (Rare)
6. *KK* The Final Frontier Rod (Boxed) – (Rare)
7. *KK* Clear Water Fishing Rod (Boxed) – (Rare)
8. *KK* Rod of Rusted Fish Pods and Cogs (Boxed) – (Rare)
9. *KK* New England Patriots Fishing Rod (Boxed) – (Rare)
10. *KK* Seven Seas Fishing Area Fishing Rod (Boxed) – (Rare)
11. *KK* Mech Fishing Rod (Boxed) – (Very Rare)
12. *KK* Flaming Mech Fishing Rod (Boxed) – (Very Rare)

I created all 12 of these items and 6 of these items like the Flaming Mech and Mech Fishing Rods can only be caught through Neo-Realms fishing system via the Local Catch Distributor. What does that mean? It means that if a fisher wants to get that particular custom then they’ll have to get a Neo-Realms fishing rod and start fishing with it which means business for them.

After learning that Neo-Realms has added custom item  support to their fishing system, I bought and setup their basic fishing camp at my place with the intent of creating and releasing new custom items through it but, now, I’m not that motivated in doing that anymore. I don’t think they care much for custom items or for custom creators and this is evident from the non-response to my suggestion/comment about creating invisible rods that can be worn on other parts of the body or even the HUD because, in so doing, it will easily open up the possibilities for Custom Fishing Rods.

Update: It seems that the 7Seas item he/she is referring to is this one, *KK* Seven Seas Fishing Area Fishing Rod (Boxed). He/She read the name and assumed it was a 7Seas item. Toinks! He/She also felt that it was an open advertisement for their competitor. Huh! At their current status, 7Seas don’t need any advertisement anymore. They’re too big already. In fact, they’re so big now that Seven Shikami called everyone who sells bait at a discount, stupid.

*KK* Seven Seas Fishing Area Fishing Rod (Boxed) is a custom fishing rod and can be used with 7Seas (and even Neo-Realms if you know how to edit attachments). The intent was to get those 7Seas fishers who fish at my place to try Neo-Realms since the rod can only be caught using Neo-Realms Fishing System. It was also not intended for those already fishing with Neo-Realms. It was a marketing gimmick to get 7Seas fishers who fish at my place to try and fish with Neo-Realms. Unfortunately, NR saw it as an advertisement for 7Seas and not as intended.

Currently, I turned off my local catch distributor so that it will be de-listed or removed from Neo-Realms Customs Page. I just hope that it doesn’t auto-publish itself when I turn it on again because if it does then I have no choice but to remove them all.

Sorry, I just don’t like issues like this specially when, 1. I wasn’t doing anything wrong and, 2. I was trying to get new fishers to try out Neo-Realms by offering exclusive custom items only catch-able through it.

Anyway, there’s really nothing I can do except comply with what they want if I want to continue using and supporting Neo-Realms besides I can always rant about them here later. Ha ha ha!
