Get A Chance At $5,000 In A Video Contest

This is just an amazingly easy contest to join so I just have to share this with everyone! Get a chance to win $5,000 USD (yes that is USD and not L$, hehehe) just by creating and submitting a video about how your improved vision impacted your life.

The official name of the contest is “You Gotta See This” Video Contest and it is sponsored by Abbott Medical Optics Inc. (AMO), a global leader in laser vision correction. The purpose of the contest is they want to know how a better vision can improve, or has improved, people’s lives and they want you to make a video showing just that.

Here are the details of the contest and how to join:

1. Submit A Video
   Users make and submit a video in one of the following categories:
   • “My contacts are getting in the way of my good time”
   • “My favorite sport or activity would be so much cooler with better vision”
   • “You should see life after the iLASIK® Procedure”
2. Tell Friends To Vote
   Once users submit a video, their friends can vote on it. And votes are one of the key factors in determining which videos win a prize.
3. Have A Chance To Win
   • One Grand Prize winner will win $5,000 — selected from all submitted videos
   • Three First Prize winners will win an HDTV package(a $2,500 value) — one per video category
   • Three Second Prize winners will win the Flip UltraHD™ camcorder (a $199.99 value) — one per video category

Those who wish to participate can submit their videos, view and vote on all entries at iLASIK Video Contest.

Creating a video is very easy. You can even do it using your mobile phones, that is if it has a video camera which is very common to most mobile phones of today. If you have a webcam then much better because transferring to your computer won’t be a problem anymore since you can save it directly to your hard drive. I usually can’t find the cables needed to transfer my videos from my handy cam to my computer.

You can either upload your raw and unedited video or you can edit it first before uploading. If you are on Windows XP then you can use Windows MovieMaker to edit your video. It is so easy to use and you can add lots of things that can enhance your video further like text, special effects and even transition effects if your video is composed of multiple scenes. Afterwards you can save it as a project or save it immediately to .WMV for upload. You can also convert it to .AVI if you have the tool needed for conversion.

So, why are you still sitting on your ass for? Grab those old handy cams, video cams or even your cellphone’s cam and start making a video and submit it for a chance to win that $5,000. There are 3 categories and if you can make videos for all three then much better. More entries, higher chances of winning but don’t forget to tell your friends to vote on your vids!
