I first registered with Metaverse Exchange last April 18, 2009 but only started listing my items last September 13, 2009. Since then I have only sold 2 items and both of these items are for FREE and because they were FREE these two sales don’t count. Yesterday, I have made my first REAL sale with Metaverse Exchange. A resident bought a copy of my Merry Christmas Shirts for 124L$. Deducting Metaverse Exchange’s commission of 5% per sale, I received a net of 118L$. Woohoo!
A few days ago, I also made my first sale with SLOpenMarket. I registered with SLOpenMarket a week or two ago and listed one item. Just a few days ago, this item got sold already which motivated me to list more items. Currently, I have 8 items listed in SLOpenMarket and these are all Christmas related items (Christmas Shirts and Christmas Themed Custom Fishing Rods).
Getting a sale from both of these online Second Life marketplaces means that residents are starting to get notice of them. Having thousands of merchants listing thousands of items don’t mean much if there are no residents buying them, right?
These two particular marketplaces are like the underdogs compared with the others specially SLOpenMarket but if they can turn residents into buyers then it will definitely encourage (even motivate) merchants to list and sell more items. Look at me, I sold 1 (non-FREE) item in both marketplaces and now I am pumped up and eager to list more. For a small merchant like me, getting a sale is very motivating. LOL!
I have items listed in XstreetSL.com, metaLIFE, Apez.biz, Metaverse Exchange, slapt.me and SLOpenMarket and I have sold at least one (non-FREE) item in all of them except for slapt.me which is kind of weird since slapt.me has the most active community among them (not including XstreetSL.com, of course).
