Looking good!

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

It seems that Entropia Universe now has a much better graphics and I just have to see it for myself. I still have Entropia Universe installed and after almost an hour of patching I logged in into Entropia Universe.Once you logged in, you’ll get a message informing you that you will be recreating your avatar’s appearance and that is what I did. The interface is much easier to use than the previous one but the process is still the same and I must admit that the graphics are much prettier than before.

Here are some screenshots. Remember, that the quality of the graphics is not the same for all systems.

Here are some screenshots of my character sweating.

Here is my character with a rifle in-hand.

When I was still playing Entropia Universe, I tried to become a hunter but the loot I was getting wasn’t enough to pay for all the equipments used.

Anyway, the new graphics of Entropia Universe is really good even for my system. In fact, Second Life never looked that good on my machine.

Struggling in Entropia

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

My life in Entropia Universe is a big struggle. You see, Entropia Universe is very different from other MMORPGs, in fact it’s almost like real life where you have to work for almost everything. Getting started in Entropia Universe without depositing is very hard but that is what I intend to do.My first few days in Entropia were all about discovering. Mainly, discovering how to exist, survive and eventually strive in Entropia. During this period, I spent a lot of my time gathering vibrant sweat and the PED I earned from sweating went into useless spending like buying a set of Settler Suit just to sell it again, buying a pistol only to sell it, buying a Vito medical kit only to sell it, buying a Killian sword only to re-auction it and other useless spending. Useless spending will get you nowhere in Entropia and I found that out the hard way.

I re-evaluated my progress and sad to say, I was back where I started. Well, I did gain a lot of skills from those things I did but I can’t really call it progress. I decided to go back to gathering vibrant sweat while I decide which path I should take in my Entropian life.

I decided to be a hunter and decided to use a rifle instead of a sword. I purchased a Sollomate Opalo from the Trade Terminal (TT) and a few clips of medium laser cells. My first hunting session got me a lot of good loots like 2 Pixie Harness (male and female), a pair of Goblin Gloves (M), a few FAP with different levels, a limited pistol (one you can’t repair), hundreds of Animail Oils, paints and a lot more.

I auctioned the 2 Pixie Harness, the FAPs and kept the other stuff for possible sale to other characters in Entropia. Overall, it was a good haul and it was a good decision on my part to focus on gathering vibrant sweat and hunting.

I will continue on doing what I am doing now and once I have enough PED then I might try crafting or mining in my struggle to exist, survive and strive in Entropia continues…

Sight Seeing

Entropia Universe

Below are screenshots of my aimless wander. I just ran around for hours enjoying the sights Entropia Universe can offer. I saw giant frogs, giant lizards and other creatures I can’t describe. I might have missed seeing a few or some creatures because I was really avoiding any red dots on my radar. An encounter with any of them will surely means instant death. In fact, I was following another player but he died. He got to close to a monster! There are many beautiful things to see in the game and I’ve only explored the southeastern part of the map. Later, I might go up north and look for that Oil Field.

Entropia Universe

Just passing time. This is a video of my character dancing silly at Port Atlantis in Entropia Universe.

I took a video of my character running away from death. Collecting vibrant sweat is hard. Various creatures will always give chase.

Sweating It Out

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

As a newbie in the game Entropia Universe, my character’s biggest problem is PED (project entropia dollar). PED is the in game currency of Entropia Universe. Anyway, for those who has some major cash surplus they can always acquire PED by depositing real funds into their account but unfortunately my cash is very, very limited because of that I won’t be spending any money in this game (for now atleast).

What can I do then to earn PED? Well, I can do the following:

  1. collect fruits or dung and sell it to players
  2. perform various jobs or services for other players in exchange for PED like selling items for them, or
  3. gather vibrant SWEAT from creatures around the immediate area and sell them to other players for PED

I chose to collect vibrant sweat. Sweating or gathering sweat is very easy to do. Here is how:

  • Run around the map and find a creature
  • If you find one then select it and hit number 8 or click on the gather sweat icon or double click the creature. A weird (almost voodoo like) animation will be performed by your character
  • Once it is over, your character’s hands will be glowing green
  • Hit number 8 again or the gather sweat icon or double click the creature. A green strobe like light will shootout from your character’s body and into the creature accompanied again with a voodoo like animation
  • If it’s succesful then a window will appear showing the amount of vibrant sweat gathered. If not then a failure message will appear in the chat window

Unfortunately, at the start, failed attempts will be much greater than successful attempts. If you have very little patience then it will be very frustrating for you but as your sweat gathering skill and concentration increases in level, the failure rate will eventually drop (well, that’s what I think anyways).

Here is a video of my character Sweating It Out!
