Looking to Camp for Linden Dollars?

I have not posted anything about camping in Second Life for many months because , 1. I don’t camp for Linden Dollars anymore and 2. there is a new policy about camping, bots and gaming traffic but still there are many places that offers camping. One of this place is 55 Creations Camp Equipment which is a shop that sells camping equipments. They have camping dance pads, camping beach towels and all sorts of equipments for camping.

Camping Devices at 55 Creations

Obviously, I didn’t look at the other stuff they have for sale because I wasn’t really thinking of buying anything. I was just there to check out the camping devices and to see if they are active.

The rates shown on each camping device varies. Some starts at 2L$/40min, some starts at 1L$/30min and some have random payouts. All of them are set to Group though and I didn’t see any sign saying that these camping devices are for DEMO only. So, I would assume that they are active and paying.

More Camping Devices

Sorry, I was not able to try them. I’m at 25 groups already and I wasn’t in the mood to just stand or sit there for 30 minutes, at least. I did see someone camping there once.

The camping rates at 55 Creations are somewhat below the standard 1L$/10minutes found at other camping areas but for someone willing to burn some time, I guess the rates are okay. The only thing that makes me wonder about the place is no one hardly goes there to camp.

Camping And Free Hair

I’ve already posted this before the defacement of this blog but since it was lost after the restoration and I can’t find any cached version of the original post, I have no choice but to rewrite and repost it. As I have previously posted, I went to get a copy of The SL News Stand which was supposed to be at EDGEWATER SHOPPING CENTER MALL at ASI Seychelles region but when I got there, the kiosk that was supposed to give copies of The SL News Stand was nowhere to be found. Instead, I found two camping benches near the landmark beacon and inside the shop where the benches were located was a free hair for women.

Each camping bench can sit a total of three people and it pays 2L$ per 15 minutes of camping. Both benches were occupied when I was there.

On the other hand, the free hair looked very nice and I’m sure a lot of residents will grab a copy. So, if you are looking for a free hair or if you are looking for a new camping spot to add to your list then just visit the place at EDGEWATER SHOPPING CENTER MALL.

Camping Ends

Today I went to visit the camping location at Dreyfus. I had a post about it before titled Earn Linden Dollars By Roasting Marshmallows. The camping location is just right above the shop of Animate! Me which is owned by mikeD Streeter who is also the owner of The Roman Empire sim.

The location is now empty, although it’s still there but it’s no longer a camping location. The camping logs are gone and it’s been replaced by a mini garden of somekind. I did take a look around and I didn’t find a single camping tool or device anywhere. I guess the owner is keeping the place up for future camping events.

To all campers, don’t get discouraged when your favorite camping spot disappears. It’s just natural and besides there are new ones popping out everyday. Joining a camping group is recommended but please never join a camping group that asks for payment because there are many good and FREE camping groups in Second Life you just have to do some searching.

Fighting Over A Camping Spot

Today I visited some sims around Scaramanga. Scaramanga is the name of the sim where my home is located. Using the map, I searched for sims near Scaramanga that have some people in it. I then teleported in after picking my destination by clicking on the Map. During my sim hopping, 2 places took my attention and they were located at Gunther and Xoanon.

At Xoanon, Luna Animations have a camping bench just outside the shop. The camping bench sits 3 people but there were 5 people on it. In Grunther, the same situation was also present. They too have a camping bench that sits 3 people but there were 3 more people standing by near it. (see photos)

As you can see, these campers are fighting over one camping bench in two different locations. LOL! I’m also noticing an increase in the numbers of campers today. I’m not sure if the banning of banks in Second Life has anything to do with it since, admit it or not, there are many residents who relies heavily on the interest earned by their deposits and with that gone they’ve just lost another means of earning linden dollars.

Looking back at the two photos, you’ll see that the two are not exactly alike. If you notice, the first photo contains campers in newbie attire and one of them is even sitting on air while on the other photo, the campers are much better dressed. If we are going to pick which group of campers are bots then I’m sure you’re going to pick the first photo but we can never really tell, can we?

How about we do a poll and find out?

Camping @ Korea Orientation

The name of the sim is Korea Orientation but the place is called UTOZ. Well, I don’t know what UTOZ means or what it stands for although I did try to search UTOZ in google and I did find there website which is www.utoz.net but it did me no good because the site is in Korean.

Anyway, there are some camping spots here that pays 2L$ per 10 minutes. I also noticed that most of those that camp there had the basic Second Life avatar appearance. I’m not sure but my guess is that they are bots (see screenshots).

Well, if you’re going to camp bot at least spend a little time dressing up your bot avatars because they kinda look too obvious and if they are not bots then still dress them up so that they won’t be accidentally marked or tagged as bots. LOL!

It’s 2008 and I hope that we all have a great year this new year. We all know that camping has been going downhill since the banning of gambling in Second Life and we can’t deny the fact that there are sim and land owners who, instead of paying campers, use bots to camp on their own land or sim. We can’t really blame them since it’s more cheaper for them I guess. So for all of you campers out there, let’s start the year with a 3L$ per 9 minutes camping rate at Odessa Elegant.

I found four camping benches and all four are paying 3L$ per 9 minutes of camping. I’m quite certain that this rate will not last that long and sooner or later it will drop so better take the opportunity to camp there while it’s still there. Just remember camping rates change all the time. Happy New Year and Happy Camping!

Earn Linden Dollars by Roasting Marshmallows

LOL! It’s a camping chair found on a platform above Dreyfus. You sit on a piece of log and it will pay you 3L$ every 20 minutes. I don’t know why the hover text says “Roast Marshmallows! Left Click For Pole” when there’s no fire to roast the marshmallows on.

The place isn’t crowded yet so it’ll give you some time to earn some linden dollars. With so many sim owners and land owners now using BOTs to camp on their lands, the rate of 3L$/20 minutes isn’t bad. As campers, we must take what we can and be thankful for it. LOL!

Hello fellow campers! Here are 2 more camping locations for your camping fix, err, need. LOL!

Join the Band @ OSRAM Island

They have a camping band setup and it has a rate of 2L$ per 10 minutes. There are 2 locations, just look at the map to find the other one. It is easy to spot, just look for the area where there are many people. LOL!

Be Punished for Camping @ Stamper

They have a line of campers here and because there was no available spot I was not able to see what the rate was.

I also noticed that many 3L$/10 min. spots are dropping to 2L$/10 min.

I did a little exploring today and I found a few camping locations for all of us campers to exploit, errrr, visit. LOL!

The camping device is a bench and the camping rate is 2L$ per 15 minutes. There are many benches at the place but I only saw 2 benches that are used for camping.

The camping device used here is a dancing cage and the current camping rate is 2L$ per 10 minutes. The rate is the minimum suggested rate for camping.

The camping device used here are camping chairs and the current camping rate is 2L$ per 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the avatar you see camping in the photo should have learned how to sit on a camping chair. LOL!

Dance! Dance! Evolution!

Remember Dance Dance Revolution? Those were fun times but Dance Dance Evolution has nothing to do with it. LOL! But they do have one thing in common and that is dancing. Dance Dance Evolution is a camping setup where campers starts dancing at the lowest paying dance pads then moves up in rank every cycle until they reach the highest paying dance pads.

You can find one of this at THE COLLECTIVE. The device pays 3L$ to 9L$ every 10 minutes depending on your dance pad level. The higher you go up, the bigger pay you’ll get. Current pay limit on this device is 50L$.

You’ll see all sorts of avatars camping here and if they get hungry then they can always take a bite on that dancing hamburger. LOL!
