I’ve seen Wrestling Rings, Boxing Rings, Ancient Coliseums, Combat Arenas, Basketball Courts, and other sporting locations but this time I took a quick look at IBM’s Winbledon Tennis Court in Second Life.
What can I say? IBM did an amazing job at it. The tennis court looks amazingly real and it even has two dummy players playing on it. In fact, you can even be one of the dummies but right-clicking on one of them and then selecting Sit. Your avatar will then replace the dummy. Unfortunately, you can’t actually control what’s happening. You’ll just be a replacement for the dummy. LOL! (more…)

I got an e-mail from a volunteer with the International Spaceflight Museum in Second Life. It’s about their Sims Anniversary Celebration. The Sims are Spaceport Alpha and Spaceport Bravo and they celebrated the anniversary of the two sims last June 14, 2008 which was already a week ago.
Unfortunately, I was not checking my e-mails that often during that week so I was not able to announce it here. I’m terribly sorry for that. (more…)

This week, I received a few group notices about SeaLife Aquariums and since I haven’t seen many aquariums in Second Life I decided to drop by and take a quick look at what an aquarium in Second Life would look like. Well, the place was not exactly how I pictured it because I thought the place would be like a virtual park with different aquariums on display, like a virtual version or even a virtual copy of Sea World but it was not like that all. What I found was a store that literally sells virtual aquariums. (more…)

An avatar named John Trihey sent me a message about his new mall called JB’s Super Mall which is located at the Hodu region in Second Life. If I remember it correctly, he sent me a message about a camping location before. Anyway, today I went to his mall to check it out.

Today I visited Sparta at The Spartan Empire sim. The sim is also owned by mikeD Streeter who is also the owner of The Roman Empire. The Spartan Empire sim is home to Sparta and Mythology but for this post I will be going through Sparta only.
I’ve heard about Sparta some days ago but I was too busy with real life to check it out until now. I teleported to Sparta using a landmark which I got from a group notice. The landing point was just outside the city. You won’t miss the entrance because there’s an image with a photo of a Spartan from the movie 300 just beside it. (more…)
