This week, I received a few group notices about SeaLife Aquariums and since I haven’t seen many aquariums in Second Life I decided to drop by and take a quick look at what an aquarium in Second Life would look like. Well, the place was not exactly how I pictured it because I thought the place would be like a virtual park with different aquariums on display, like a virtual version or even a virtual copy of Sea World but it was not like that all. What I found was a store that literally sells virtual aquariums. [...continue reading SeaLife Aquariums]

An avatar named John Trihey sent me a message about his new mall called JB’s Super Mall which is located at the Hodu region in Second Life. If I remember it correctly, he sent me a message about a camping location before. Anyway, today I went to his mall to check it out.
The mall isn’t that very big. In fact, it is only 1 level and consists of shop spaces. Below are some data which I have gathered about the mall: [...continue reading JB’s Super Mall]

Previously, I mentioned at Sparta @ The Spartan Empire that the sim, The Spartan Empire, is home to both Sparta and Mythology, right? Well, now we will take a look at Mythology.
Mythology is the other half of The Spartan Empire. I’m not so sure to what mythology the place was based on but I guess it’s safe to assume that it was based on Greek Mythology and just like Sparta and The Roman Empire, the landing point is just near the Market area. I use the term market to describe the location because there weren’t any malls back in those times. The market area of mythology is much smaller than Sparta and The Roman Empire. There is also a dead tree at the center of it. I wonder what’s that for?

Today I visited Sparta at The Spartan Empire sim. The sim is also owned by mikeD Streeter who is also the owner of The Roman Empire. The Spartan Empire sim is home to Sparta and Mythology but for this post I will be going through Sparta only.
I’ve heard about Sparta some days ago but I was too busy with real life to check it out until now. I teleported to Sparta using a landmark which I got from a group notice. The landing point was just outside the city. You won’t miss the entrance because there’s an image with a photo of a Spartan from the movie 300 just beside it. Today I visited a Role Play/Combat Sim named Samarkand. The sim has an Ancient Arab/Persian look to it and according to Wikipedia, “Samarkand is one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, prospering from its location on the trade route between China and Europe (The Silkroad)”.
The Landing Point
In Second Life, to find Samarkand just search under places using the word “samarkand”. Samarkand’s landing point is the Market Area (see photo) which is located 600 meters above the ground. To visit other areas of Samarkand you must find the teleporter which is at the other side of the market. Also, upon landing you will be given notecards with rules and other informations about the sim so read them well. [...continue reading Samarkand Explored]
