Free Hairs From Simply Britnee

There are hundreds of hair creators in Second Life and one brand of hair I really like is Simply Britnee by Britnee Hadlee. My avatar, Rom Ireton, owns four Simply Britnee hairs (Brandon Blackjack, Brandon Canielm, Brandon Ghaun and Brandon Lajon). Brandon is Simply Britnee’s name for men’s hair.

Yesterday, I went to Simply Britnee’s main store at Barbados to check out a new hair for Kabalyero Kidd but while I was scanning through the many line of men’s hair I noticed that a few of the product displays don’t have a DEMO under it. Curious, I right clicked on one and selected BUY. To my surprise, the prize of the hair was 0L$. At first I thought it might be an error in Britnee’s part so I checked all the product displays that also don’t have a DEMO under it and all of them were 0L$. OMG! The hairs were FREE! (more…)

Get Minnu Model Skins Free

Minnu Model Skins looks great. They look so great that I bought my avatar Rom Ireton a Male Minnu Model Skin for 1,500L$. It’s a bit expensive for a newbie in Second Life but here is how you can get a Minnu Model Skin for free.

  1. In-world, do a group search for Minnu Model Skin. At the result, look for group MM SKINS and join. The group MM SKINS is Minnu Model Skin’s Second Life group. There is no cost or fee to join the group.
  2. After joining, right click on yourself, select group, select MM SKINS and then click on Group Info. The group info dialogue box will open.
  3. At the MM SKINS group dialogue box select the Notices tab and search the list for Happy Holidays.
  4. The “Happy Holidays” group notice has an attached object named MMSKINS Gift Bag
  5. Click Open Attachment to copy it into your inventory
  6. Rez the gift bag, open the gift bag and copy the content into your inventory

The gift bag includes the following items:

  • MM-Blue_Eyes
  • MMS-Thora Lashes
  • MMSPale-2008 (female skin)
  • MMS-Pale-h-shaved (male skin)
  • MMS-Pale-b-shaved (male skin)
  • MMS-Harness (for your horse)

Now you have some goodies and free skins from Minnu Model Skins. The photos below show my avatar Kabalyero Kidd wearing the male skin MMS-Pale-b-shaved.

Not only did you get some free skins but you are now also a member of the group which means you’ll get updates of new products and free goodies from Minnu Model Skins.

A Great Group for Freebies

I love freebies, who doesn’t? For a newbie, freebies or free items are a great help to get them started with their Second Life and the best way to find great freebies is to join freebie related groups. One of those great freebies group is *Sarah Nerd’s FREEBIE FREAKS!. Personally, I don’t know who Sarah Nerd is but I hear her name almost all the time so I guess she is a very popular personality in Second Life but who Sarah Nerd is, is not our topic, our topic is her amazing freebies group.

I’ve received so many great freebies from this group that I can no longer remember all of them but one freebie that I can’t forget is a male skin which I bought for 50L$ but was given away by this group for free. Aw, I can’t forget it because I spent 50L$ for it. LOL!

Recently, Misteri Writer announced to the group that he is closing his business and he is selling his products for 1L$. He even attached the bigger ones for free. (See Photo)

Mysterious

My only complaint about Misteri Writer’s package was they are copyable and transferable which is easily open to abuse by greedy residents. How? They’ll resell it at a price higher than 0L$. Aw! I guess that’s no longer his problem if someone resells the items in the package for profit.

Just recently, Sarah released to the group one of her hairs for free.

And a few days earlier she released one of her “nifty fifty” hairs. Arrgghh! It was also for women.

So, if you are looking for a great group for freebies then I strongly suggest that you join *Sarah Nerd’s FREEBIE FREAKS! Newbies should definitely join this group!

Say Goodbye to Ruth with Autoderuth by Dougal Jacobs

Ruth is the default Second Life avatar shape and sometimes (hopefully, not often) you’ll find or see your avatar Ruthed ((Ruthed means having the default Second Life shape)). This happens when your avatar didn’t load properly or failed to load due to lag and/or due to other forms of Second Life problems.

It’s really freaky, specially for male avatars, seeing yourself with boobs. Ewwwww!

Now you can say goodbye to Ruth with Autoderuth by Dougal Jacobs. I found a post about it at Linden Lifestyles and thought that it’s a pretty nice tool to have since I sometimes also experience this Ruthing thing.

Autoderuth is a simple HUD which you have to wear and click to fix your appearance. Don’t be surprised if you are launched way up into the sky. According to Dougal Jacobs, “that’s how it works”. I don’t know the technicality or the science behind it but if it can fix my appearance or fix how I look to others then I guess being launched like a rocket up into the sky is not a big problem.

Find-A-Linden HUD

Nope, the HUD is not a tool for searching Linden Dollars but instead it’s a tool to help residents find Lindens, you know those Godly beings that imagined, created and actually own everything in Second Life.

I found this little tool while browsing through the threads of Second Life’s Official Forum and I feel that this tool will be of great use to those residents who are in constant need of assistance and are always searching for a Linden who is online.

The HUD, when worn, is placed on the top left corner of your Second Life client’s screen and just by simply clicking or touching it, a list of Lindens who where recently found online is displayed (see screenshot below).

We all know how it goes: you’re sitting on your land, when suddenly you’re being attacked by missiles. Or, you’re holding an event, and someone decides it’s time for a mutant Spongebob cube to go flying through. Or your sim crashes. Or you just got orbited. The list is endless.

When you just the Find-A-Linden HUD, it will give you a list of the most recent Lindens online, so that you can find help when you NEED it, not when it finally reaches the top of a list.

(Warning: While we can tell you which Lindens are on, we can’t guarantee they will respond. You may have to contact multiple Lindens before you find one available to assist.)
