Anubis Charm from Copper Chest

Voyage Century Online

In one of my encounters with Emanuel Wynn, he dropped a Copper Chest that gave me an Anubis Charm.

Anubis Charm As far as I know, an Anubis Charm is a premium item (premium items are items sold in the Item Mall) and can only be bought in the Item Mall with real money. I never expected that it can be acquired in game through a copper chest. I guess, I was wrong.

So, it is safe to assume that other Charms or even other Premium Items can be acquired this way but my guest is that it’ll be very, very rare.

Update: One time, I continously hit Emanuel Wynn over and over again. There wasn’t anybody hitting him so I grabbed the opportunity to stack up on drawings. After a few hours my article columns, both ship and character, were full. In my character article column, there were 4 Copper Chest. I opened all of them and one of them gave me a Ghost Change Charm. :)

Barbarosa II

http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/5999/voyagecentury01bry7.gif

Travelling from Istanbul to Tripoli, Pirate Boss Barbaraso II appeared out of nowhere and  attacked my ship. Barbarosa II spawns just south-west of Crete Islan.

I have no plans nor was I hunting Barbarosa.  I was on my way to Tripoli to complete a Quest when out of nowhere a Golden Eye Raiding Ship appeared and attacked me. I did not know it was Barbarosa II, I thought it was just your everyday Golden Eye. Clicking the Attack button, I was suprised to see that it was Barbarosa II that I was against with when I entered the scene and targeted the raiding ship.

It was an intense moment. I've never faced a Pirate Boss before and I've heard from Bravostar, a guildmate, that Barbarosa II is tough.

I was not prepared, my ship's crew was down to 42 and I was already thinking of defeat.

Like any raiding npc pirates, Barbarosa II rammed my ship and dealt 1,500 damage to my hull. He then tried to grapple (I saw something shootout from his ship's deck) but failed. A cannon fight began. Side by side we were trading cannon fires but I had to give in. My ship can't and will not win by cannon fight. So, I moved in closer and once close enough I grappled. I was successful and boarded Barbarosa II's ship.

With only 42 sailors, me and my crew were outnumbered.

I tried many times to target Barbarosa II but he was inside this throng of fighting sailors. So, I waited near him. He killed one of my crew in an instant and then turned his sights on me. At this point, all of my crew were already killed and I was mobbed by Barbarosa II's crew.

The amount of damage I was taking was enourmous. I was very fortunate to have a huge supply of low level HP potion with me. Taking in as much potion as I can as I absorb all the damage being dealth by Barbarosa II and his crew.

The fight rages on. I was so excited to see that Barbarosa II's HP was lower than mine and was getting lower faster than mine. With about 25% of my HP left, Barbarosa II fell in defeat and with it the battle ends. He dropped a few drawings, 2 level 4 figureheads, some quality cannon balls and some silver.

Level 4 Adventure Ship

http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/5999/voyagecentury01bry7.gif

My ship in Voyage Century Online is an Adventure ship and to increase its level I need to increase its manueverability. I was stucked with a level 3 adventure ship for quite a long time but I decided it's time to get my ship to level 4. In order to do that I need to explore and discover stuff. So, I equipped my handy level 2 telescope (Pilot), bought 5000 provisions, hired 97 sailors, cleared my inventory and went out to sea to explore and find new discoveries.

To help me find new discoveries, I went to VCO forum and printed a copy of the Discovery list. I double checked the list with my own discoveries and I found out that most of the discoveries I need to find are level 3 discoveries.

So, I went around the Mediterranean, up North to Iceland, down to Cape Town and went through Asia and back.

Along the way,  I found a lot of Wreckage Drifters, this are stuff floating on water. Wreckage Drifters are good sources of map pieces which can be pieced together to create a Treasurer Map. I also found level 1 and level 2 discoveries which I might have missed before.

I also have with me, 5 level 1 Treasure Maps. The treasures I found gave me anough reputation points to increase my Noble Rank to Baron.

I didn't try to discover everything in the list, I left 1 discovery which is near Madagascar but still I had found enough discoveries to level my ship's manueverability to 31. I then went back to Cape Town and had everything authenticated there. All of those discoveries upon authentication gave me 500k or more silvers.

After that, i went back to Europe, took the materials necessary for upgrade, went to Algiers and had my level 3 adventure ship rebuilt to level 4.

I want to dye the sails of my newly rebuilt ship but upon calculating the cost of dying the sails, I decided not too. Well, I guess untilI earned enough silver to do so.

Sunk by CrossBones

http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/5999/voyagecentury01bry7.gif

I had my first PVP experience today with the Guild Leader of CrossBones, Chilla. I lost the battle but gained a lot of experience.

I did not plan the ecnounter with Chilla. I was battling a Pirate Ship when suddenly Chilla's Battleship entered the scene.  He did not engaged me but instead attacked the pirate ship.

Of course, I will not let him get the kill so I decided to RAM the pirate ship. What he did then was he positioned his battleship between my ship and the pirate ship. I wasn't able to react quickly and I did not think that I will hit his battleship because my target is on the pirate ship. I was wrong.

The collision surprised me. I did not expect that. PVP was now on.

After sinking the pirate he began his attack on my ship. I tried counter-attacking but my canons won't fire. My cursor or pointer won't change into a targeting cursor. I realized that I still need to hold down the CTRL key to attack another player but it was already too late. My ship has sustained too much damage and my ship sunk.

I may have lost the battle but not the war. The encounter thought me a lot of about battling other players. It's very different to battling NPC pirates.

2 weeks with Voyage Century

http://img184.imageshack.us/img184/5999/voyagecentury01bry7.gif

Started playing Voyage Century just before Christmas, almost 2 weeks had passed and I’m still playing the game. I started playing in VC’s Magellan server but moved to Da Gama server. My main character is an Adventurer named Kabalyero and his first ship, which is a Raiding Ship, is named PHILIPPINES. I’ve spent the past weeks doing quests/missions from various alliance and regular NPCs. Also, this week, I was invited by a fellow Pinoy to join his guild named ~Poseidon~. The guild is composed of players from all over the world.
