Yesterday, I received an invite to SocioTown’s beta test. Ayer, recibí una invitación para SocioTown la prueba beta. SocioTown is a web based 3D Massively Multiplayer Online Social Game (MMOSG) developed by Outside The Box Software and since it’s web-based, it means that you play SocioTown in your browser. SocioTown es una red basada en 3D multijugador masivo online de juegos Social (MMOSG) desarrollado por fuera del recuadro Software y dado que la basada en la web, significa que usted juega SocioTown en su navegador. There is no client to download and install. No hay un cliente para descargar e instalar. The game uses Adobe Shockwave Player which are already available in most browsers and, besides, you can always download and install the player, if your browser doesn’t have it, which is very small. El juego utiliza Adobe Shockwave Player que ya están disponibles en la mayoría de los navegadores y, además, siempre puede descargar e instalar el reproductor, si tu navegador no tiene, lo cual es muy pequeña.

After going through the character creation process which was very simple, I logged in and found my character in jail. Después de pasar por el proceso de creación de personaje que es muy simple, yo conectado y encontrar mi personaje en la cárcel. I find it weird for a game like this to have newbies start in jail. Me parece extraño para un juego como este para empezar han novatos en la cárcel. While in jail, I had a series of conversation with some NPCs that eventually led to having my character named, my password set and my e-mail confirmed. Durante su estancia en la cárcel, tuve una serie de conversaciones con algunos CPN que finalmente llevó a mi personaje llamado, mi contraseña y configurar mi correo electrónico confirmado. After that my character was set free. Después de que mi personaje fue puesto en libertad. It was just a case of mistaken identity. Era sólo un caso de identidad errónea.

Outside, I received an e-mail from my character’s sponsor. Fuera, he recibido un e-mail de mi personaje del patrocinador. A sponsor is like an NPC assigned to assist you inside SocioTown. Un patrocinador es como un NPC asignado para ayudarle dentro de SocioTown. In the e-mail, he said that I needed to see him and he also gave instructions on how to find him. En el e-mail, dice que yo necesitaba verle y él también dio instrucciones sobre la manera de encontrarlo. Finding the location was not that hard but what is really annoying is the way you control or move your character. Encontrar el lugar no era difícil pero que lo que realmente molesta es la forma en que el control o mover tu personaje. It’s point-and-click but the screen does not always shows you the correct viewing angle. Es de apuntar y hacer clic en la pantalla pero no siempre le muestra el correcto ángulo de visión. I still have to discover if there is another way of moving around SocioTown but if there are none then the unpredictable camera movement will definitely need a lot of getting use to. Todavía tengo que descubrir si hay otra manera de moverse en torno a SocioTown pero si no los hay entonces el movimiento impredecible cámara duda alguna necesitará mucho de que le dé uso.

At my sponsor’s place, he gave my character further instructions and information on how to play SocioTown. En mi patrocinador del lugar, él dio mi personaje más instrucciones e información sobre cómo jugar SocioTown. Basically, it’s about meeting new people, building a network of friends, and improving your relationship with each other. Básicamente, se trata de conocer gente nueva, la construcción de una red de amigos, y la mejora de su relación con los demás.

Other aspects of the game which I think are also important are completing missions and doing jobs. Otros aspectos del juego que creo que también son importantes están completando las misiones y haciendo puestos de trabajo. My first mission was given to me by my character’s sponsor which involves sending a message to another NPC and lying to another NPC. Mi primera misión fue dada a mí por mi carácter de patrocinador que implica el envío de un mensaje a otro NPC y se extiende al otro NPC. LOL! When I completed the mission, something surprising happened, my character LEVELED UP! Cuando terminó la misión, algo sorprendente ocurrió, mi personaje nivelada UP! It went from Level 1 to Level 2. Se pasó de Nivel 1 a Nivel 2. I really did not expect that because I did not see any indication that my character was gaining experience. Yo realmente no esperaba que yo lo hice porque no ve ningún indicio de que mi personaje fue adquiriendo experiencia.

Okay, gaining a level kinda got me excited so I tried to get a new mission but, unfortunately, my character can only do one mission a day. Bueno, ganando un nivel algo me entusiasma, así que traté de hacer una nueva misión, pero, por desgracia, mi personaje sólo puede hacer una misión al día. That sucked because now, I have nothing to do. Eso aspirado porque ahora, no tengo nada que hacer. I tried getting a job in one of the shops but my level was too low to even get an interview with the shop owner. He intentado conseguir un empleo en una de las tiendas, pero mi nivel era demasiado bajo incluso para obtener una entrevista con el propietario de la tienda. I also tried to increase my speed by running around but that didn’t get me anywhere at all. También trató de aumentar mi velocidad de funcionamiento de todo pero eso no me cualquier lugar en absoluto. LOL!

Finally, I decided to end my first session of SocioTown. Finalmente, decidí terminar mi primer período de sesiones de SocioTown. I wasn’t able to do any socializing in the few minutes I stayed in SocioTown because of the fact that I was not able to meet any human players at all although I did meet a few NPCs (Non Player Characters) but I don’t think they count. Yo no era capaz de hacer cualquier socializar a los pocos minutos me quedé en SocioTown por el hecho de que yo no estaba en condiciones de cumplir toda obra humana a todos los jugadores, aunque lo hice cumplir unos PNJ (Personajes No Player) pero no me piensan que contar. Besides, I’d rather socialize with human players than non-human players. Por otra parte, Prefiero socializar con los actores humanos que los no jugadores humanos. LOL!

For me, SocioTown is different, it’s not Second Life and it’s not your everyday MMORPG but I am quite sure that it’sa game, different but it’s still a game. Para mí, SocioTown es diferente, no es Second Life y no es su vida cotidiana MMORPG pero estoy bastante seguro de que se trata de un juego, diferente, pero aún es un juego. I’m sure that there are more things to discover in SocioTown and I’ll try to discover them as I continue with my exploration of this brand new world. Estoy seguro de que hay más cosas que descubrir en SocioTown y voy a tratar de descubrir como sigo con mi exploración de este nuevo mundo.
