With Linden Labs hyping the Windlight First Look Viewer so much that I finally gave in to my curiosity. Avec Linden Labs hyping la Windlight First Look Viewer tellement que j'ai finalement cédé à ma curiosité. I downloaded, installed and logged on to Second Life with it. J'ai téléchargé, installé et connecté à Second Life avec elle.

But first, I think they’ve resolved some issues with Second Life because my computer hasn’t freeze for 2 days now. Mais d'abord, je pense avoir résolu quelques problèmes avec Second Life parce que mon ordinateur n'a pas geler pendant 2 jours.

Now back to Windlight, I did feel that the Windlight Viewer is a little bit better than the regular viewer and I’m not talking about graphics quality or the new environment enhancements. Revenons maintenant à Windlight, je ne pense que la Windlight Viewer est un peu mieux que le spectateur ordinaire et je ne suis pas parler de qualité graphique ou le nouvel environnement des améliorations. No, I’m talking about performance. Non, je parle sur la performance. It renders and draws objects faster and the choppiness that I’ve always experienced was greatly reduced. Il attire et rend plus rapide et objets de la choppiness que j'ai toujours connu a été considérablement réduit. So, if they were able to improve Second Life’s performance with the first look viewer then why can’t they apply this improvements (less the enhanced environment and other eye candies) to the regular/non-windlight viewer? Donc, s'ils étaient en mesure d'améliorer de Second Life rendement avec le premier coup d'oeil spectateur alors pourquoi ne pas appliquer ce qu'ils améliorations (moins le meilleur environnement et d'autres bonbons œil) à la régulière et non-windlight spectateur? I guess we’ll just have to wait for the next update and I’m sure that many residents will be happy if the regular viewer’s performance improves. Je suppose que nous suffit d'attendre la prochaine mise à jour et je suis sûr que de nombreux habitants seront heureux si le spectateur ordinaire de la performance s'améliore.

My windlight viewer setting wasn’t at Ultra because my video card won’t be able to handle it but except for the great looking environment, I didn’t notice anything different (graphics wise) with it. Mon windlight spectateur n'a pas été mise à Ultra parce que ma carte vidéo ne sera pas en mesure de traiter, mais sauf pour la grande recherche environnement, je n'ai pas remarqué quoi que ce soit différent (graphique sage). The graphics of the objects, avatars, etc. look the same with the regular viewer and I’m pretty sure that my settings for both viewers are the same. Les graphiques des objets, des avatars, etc attendons la même chose avec le spectateur ordinaire et je suis assez sûr que mes paramètres pour les deux téléspectateurs sont les mêmes. I guess, the difference will be noticeable if both viewers were set to high or in windlight’s case ULTRA but performance wise, the windlight viewer feels better. Je pense que la différence sera visible si les téléspectateurs ont été fixés à haute ou dans le cas de windlight ULTRA performances mais sage, windlight le spectateur se sent mieux.

Now for those having performance issues with their viewers, regular or windlight, Torley Linden has posted a Video Tutorial on How to easily boost viewer performance . The video tutorial mostly covers the use of a new feature which is the Lag Meter and to how to monitor performance using the Statistic Bar. Residents also suggested that the small red and green bar located at the top right corner of the viewer that measures bandwidth and packet loss be returned. I do agree with this because those little bars have always helped me determine how bad my current viewer situation is.
