A week ago, I tried to make my Mini Sky Club a place for all Pinoy Second Life residents to hang-out, meet other Pinoys and listen to Pinoy music but after talking to a Pinoy working for a company whose business deals a lot about virtual worlds like Second Life, I learned some things about Pinoys in Second Life.
I’m a very simple person and a very simple Pinoy but I truly tried to understand what he was trying to say and as I continue to listen the more a I feel negatively about the whole Pinoy thing in Second Life. I will not mention nor discuss the details of what he said to me but it’s enough for me to finally make a judgment on what I really want to do with my place in Second Life.
Before, I have a Shop which is below the Mini Sky Club, a Freebie Area which is also below the Mini Sky Club and of course the Mini Sky Club itself. Now, since I’m no longer expecting to get a lot of visitors, I placed everything inside the club. I also changed the interiors to better match the shop and freebie area. The change also saved me a lot of prims allowing me to put up more vendors to sell various items.
The official name of my place is 3 Stars and a Sun, in honor of the Philippine Flag, and it’s a Shop and a Club with tons of freebies for everyone. Everyone is welcome to drop by especially those who are totally new to Second Life.
What to find at 3 Stars and a Sun?
- Freebies. They’ll find the best freebies which I carefully selected from thousands of freebies which are mostly junk. Saving a newbie a lot of time and effort enabling him/her to enjoy Second Life sooner. I will continue to add more and more freebies as I get them but not just freebies, the best freebies you can find in Second Life.
- Shop. I also use the club to sell stuff I make in Second Life. Basically, I make items for personal use but I decided to sell them thinking that other residents might find them useful or even like to have them. Besides stuff I make, I also resell other items and most of them are sold at a very cheap prize.
- Club. I decided to keep the club format since I made many of the objects in it like the Dance Floor, the Huge Speakers, the Turntable, the Rotating Spotlights and the entire club structure. The club features Pinoy Music from 14 Pinoy Online Radio Stations but I have started to add other radio stations that plays various genre of music like New Wave, Pop, Rock, Classic, Hip hop, etc. I might even host a contest from time to time.

How did 3 Stars and a Sun came to be?
I was looking for a place to call my own in Second Life and I found it at Scaramanga. I rented the land and started building. I made various versions of my shop and boxed the others and made them for sale. I also made a very small sky box and then later improved it until it became a Mini Sky Club. I boxed the various versions of it and made them for sale too. I kept on building and improving until it grew to what it is now.
3 Stars and a Sun is more than a club. It is also my playground where I train and learn how to build various objects and because of these reason, the club will always be there for you if you decided to make it a favorite place of yours. There are no strings attached, there are no hidden agendas. Everyone is welcome to drop by at anytime they like. Check the freebies, listen to music, join the contest if there is one and most of all HAVE FUN!!!
