Looking for a really fun and relaxing way of earning Linden Dollars in Second Life? If you are then why not try fishing. Yes, you read it right. Fishing!
Recently, I discovered this wonderful fishing system called 7Seas Fishing Game and yes you can earn linden dollars from it by joining the many fishing contests held at various locations in Second Life that host a 7Seas Fishing Game system. A list of places where fishing contests are held is available at 7Seas Fishing Game’s website.
How to fish?
Of course, before you join any fishing contests you must first learn how to fish. Fishing with 7Seas system is very easy.
First, you will need a 7Seas fishing rod. You can get one from a 7Seas Fishing Gear Vendor located at all 7Seas fishing areas. There are 3 kinds of 7Seas fishing rod. Pro, Casual and Demo.
Pro Fishing Rods cost 250L$ while Casual Fishing Rods cost only 100L$. Demo Fishing Rods cost 1L$.
Pro Fishing Rods can catch all available fishes in the database (common, uncommon, rare, ultra rare and super ultra rare), gain experience needed to level up the rod and can be baited while Casual Fishing Rods can only catch common, uncommon and rare fishes. Demo rods can only be cast 5 times and can only catch common fishes.
Once you have a 7Seas fishing rod the next thing you need to do is find a place to fish. A list of 7Seas fishing areas is also available at 7Seas website and once you find a fishing area you like then just stand or sit near the body of water, wear your 7Seas fishing rod and cast off your line into the water.
There are different ways of casting your line. You can either touch your fishing rod to open up the fishing rod’s menu or type the command /1 cast in chat. A gesture is also available in the fishing rod’s Help notecard. Using the gesture is much easier and faster than typing the command in chat or using the fishing rod’s menu.
Once cast, just wait a few seconds and a message will inform you if you caught anything or not. You can also accept or deny the object you caught when it is delivered to you.
Baited fishing is only available with Pro Fishing Rods and you will need to buy a Bait Bucket which cost 30L$ and contains 100 baits for it to work. Baited fishing earns your fishing rod experience points needed to increase its level. A Pro Fishing Rod Level 1 and up can catch Ultra Rare fishes while Level 5 rods can catch Super Ultra Rare fishes.
There is really nothing complex about the process. Get a 7Seas fishing rod, find a 7Seas fishing area, wear your 7Seas fishing rod, cast, wait and re-cast.
By the way, the fishes you caught can be worn as pets, placed in an aquarium or give away to friends.
Fishing Contests
If you check the 7Seas fishing contest list then you’ll find that fishing contests are scheduled almost everyday at various 7Seas fishing areas. A contest can either be Unlimited or Individual. The difference is in the kind of 7seas fishing rod used.
Unlimited contests are for those with Pro Fishing Rods while Individual or Limited are for Casual Fishing Rod users. Demo Fishing Rods can’t be used in a contest.
Contest prizes range from as low as 50L$ to 1,000L$ (could be even more) and with so many 7Seas fishing areas holding contests, fishing can be a real good source of income for any Second Life resident.
Have Your Own Fishing Area
If you own a piece of land in Second Life which is near a body of water like a beach or a resort then you can earn linden dollars by having your own 7Seas Fishing Area. The entire 7Seas Fishing Game system is only 750L$ and it includes everything you’ll need like the fishing server, the scoreboard and the fishing gear vendor.
The 7Seas Fishing Gear Vendor is where you’ll earn your linden dollars from your 7Seas fishing area because you’ll get to keep 20% of all purchases made to your 7Seas Fishing Gear Vendor.
That’s not all, having a 7Seas Fishing Area is a great traffic booster. Just try holding a contest and see how many will come.
Fishing is Fun
Fishing is a fun and relaxing way to spend your time in Second Life and it can even be profitable for you. I got so interested in it that I placed a 7Seas Fishing Game system at my place the same day I discovered it.
So, if you are looking for a nice and quiet 7Seas fishing area then you are more than welcome to fish at my place. For those who want to try out fishing then just drop by and grab those Demo Fishing Rods and start fishing.
Hey, I might even hold a fishing contest so please don’t hesitate to join my group to get updated.
