Yesterday, I received an invite to SocioTown’s beta test. Ontem, recebi um convite para SocioTown do teste beta. SocioTown is a web based 3D Massively Multiplayer Online Social Game (MMOSG) developed by Outside The Box Software and since it’s web-based, it means that you play SocioTown in your browser. SocioTown é um web baseados em 3D Extremamente Multiplayer Online Game Social (MMOSG) desenvolvido pela Caixa fora do Software, e uma vez que ele é baseado na web, isso significa que você joga SocioTown em seu navegador. There is no client to download and install. Não existe nenhum cliente para fazer o download e instalar. The game uses Adobe Shockwave Player which are already available in most browsers and, besides, you can always download and install the player, if your browser doesn’t have it, which is very small. O jogo utiliza Adobe Shockwave Player, que já estão disponíveis na maioria dos browsers e, além disso, você sempre pode baixar e instalar o jogador, se o navegador não o tem, que é muito pequeno.

After going through the character creation process which was very simple, I logged in and found my character in jail. Depois de passar pelo processo de criação do personagem, que foi muito simples, estou conectado e encontrado o meu personagem na prisão. I find it weird for a game like this to have newbies start in jail. Acho estranho para um jogo como este para novatos têm início na prisão. While in jail, I had a series of conversation with some NPCs that eventually led to having my character named, my password set and my e-mail confirmed. Enquanto na prisão, eu tinha uma série de conversas com alguns NPCs que o levaram a ter o meu personagem chamada, minha senha e definir meu e-mail confirmado. After that my character was set free. Depois que o meu personagem foi fixado livre. It was just a case of mistaken identity. Foi apenas um caso de confusão de identidade.

Outside, I received an e-mail from my character’s sponsor. No exterior, eu recebi um e-mail do meu personagem do patrocinador. A sponsor is like an NPC assigned to assist you inside SocioTown. Um promotor é como um NPC atribuído a ajudá-lo dentro SocioTown. In the e-mail, he said that I needed to see him and he also gave instructions on how to find him. No e-mail, ele disse que eu precisava vê-lo e ele deu igualmente instruções sobre o modo de encontrá-lo. Finding the location was not that hard but what is really annoying is the way you control or move your character. Encontrar o local que não foi difícil, mas o que é realmente irritante é a maneira de controlar ou mover seu personagem. It’s point-and-click but the screen does not always shows you the correct viewing angle. É o ponto-e-clique, mas nem sempre a tela mostra-lhe o ângulo correto visualização. I still have to discover if there is another way of moving around SocioTown but if there are none then the unpredictable camera movement will definitely need a lot of getting use to. Eu ainda tenho de descobrir se há outra maneira de avançar em torno SocioTown mas se houver nenhum, então o movimento imprevisível câmera irá definitivamente necessidade de obter um lote para uso.

At my sponsor’s place, he gave my character further instructions and information on how to play SocioTown. No meu patrocinador do local, ele deu o meu personagem mais instruções e informações sobre a forma de jogar SocioTown. Basically, it’s about meeting new people, building a network of friends, and improving your relationship with each other. Basicamente, é cerca de conhecer novas pessoas, construindo uma rede de amigos, e melhorando o seu relacionamento uns com os outros.

Other aspects of the game which I think are also important are completing missions and doing jobs. Outros aspectos do jogo que eu penso que são igualmente importantes são completar missões e fazendo postos de trabalho. My first mission was given to me by my character’s sponsor which involves sending a message to another NPC and lying to another NPC. A minha primeira missão foi-me dado pelo meu personagem do patrocinador que envolve envio de uma mensagem para o outro NPC e mentir para o outro NPC. LOL! When I completed the mission, something surprising happened, my character LEVELED UP! Quando eu concluída a missão, algo surpreendente aconteceu, o meu personagem nivelados UP! It went from Level 1 to Level 2. Ela passou de Nível 1 para Nível 2. I really did not expect that because I did not see any indication that my character was gaining experience. Eu realmente não esperava que eu, porque não viu qualquer indicação de que o meu personagem foi ganhando experiência.

Okay, gaining a level kinda got me excited so I tried to get a new mission but, unfortunately, my character can only do one mission a day. Ok, ganhando um nível kinda got me animado por isso que tentei obter uma nova missão, mas, infelizmente, o meu personagem só pode fazer uma missão um dia. That sucked because now, I have nothing to do. Isso porque sugado agora, não tenho nada para fazer. I tried getting a job in one of the shops but my level was too low to even get an interview with the shop owner. Eu tentei obter um emprego em uma das lojas, mas o meu nível era demasiado baixo para obter até mesmo uma entrevista com o dono da loja. I also tried to increase my speed by running around but that didn’t get me anywhere at all. Eu também tentou aumentar a minha velocidade, correndo em volta, mas que eu não recebi qualquer lugar em tudo. LOL!

Finally, I decided to end my first session of SocioTown. Finalmente, eu decidi-me terminar a minha primeira sessão de SocioTown. I wasn’t able to do any socializing in the few minutes I stayed in SocioTown because of the fact that I was not able to meet any human players at all although I did meet a few NPCs (Non Player Characters) but I don’t think they count. Eu não era capaz de fazer qualquer socializar nos poucos minutos que ficou em SocioTown devido ao fato de que não fui capaz de satisfazer qualquer humanos em todos os jogadores embora eu responder a alguns NPCs (Personagens não Player), mas eu não pensam que contam. Besides, I’d rather socialize with human players than non-human players. Além disso, prefiro socializar com jogadores humanos do que não-humanos jogadores. LOL!

For me, SocioTown is different, it’s not Second Life and it’s not your everyday MMORPG but I am quite sure that it’sa game, different but it’s still a game. Para mim, SocioTown é diferente, não é Second Life e ele não é o seu quotidiano MMORPG, mas estou certo de que este é um jogo, mas ainda é muito diferente de um jogo. I’m sure that there are more things to discover in SocioTown and I’ll try to discover them as I continue with my exploration of this brand new world. Tenho certeza que há mais coisas para descobrir em SocioTown e eu vou tentar descobrir como elas me continuar a minha exploração deste novo mundo.
