Living A Second Life

Where are they now?

During my first weeks in Second Life I met some Filipino1 SL residents. Most of them were newbies like me but there were some that were not so newbie anymore. Where are they now specially the newbies? I have them on my friends list but I never see them online anymore. I know there are many Filipinos in SL but I’m more interested to those who are just starting and feeling their way around because it’s really hard to get established in SL without any support from anyone. I should know! I started at zero and yet I haven’t gotten very far but what keeps me going is that I enjoy whatever I am doing in SL.

Second Life

I really can’t offer newbies any L$ but I have a free item area which can really get them started with clothes, skins, etc. and besides they’ll always have a home at 3 Stars and a Sun. If you are reading this and you are a Filipino who wants to try Second Life but doesn’t know anyone then you are very much welcome at 3 Stars and a Sun. The third level is specially built to accommodate Filipinos in Second Life. Newbies (Filipino or not) to Second Life are welcome to use it as there starting point. They can search for jobs, complete surveys to earn L$, sign to Earn2Life and First Opinions Panel for more L$ and grab free items. I’m not a very good talker but I’ll try to assist and answer questions as much as I can. Don’t be discouraged, it’s true that there are people who will try to drag you down but remember there are also those who will try to help.

(Yes, there are many popular free item areas but these areas tend to lag like hell and I don’t think newbies to SL will enjoy such an experience. At 3 Stars and a Sun, lag is minimal to non-existent, enabling you to move easily and try out or wear the items without problems.)

I also noticed that when you search for Filipinos or Filipino places, you won’t find many. I know there are more of us in Second Life but it’s like they are hiding or something. Here are some Filipino listed places (those I found in SL’s search):

Here are some snapshots!

These photos were taken at 3 Stars and a Sun when it was still a Club. I scrapped the club idea after hearing some negative input towards it. I turned it into a Free Items area for those starting with their Second Life and I’m very happy that people are coming in and are grabbing everything.

I really hope to see more Filipinos in Second Life and 3 Stars and a Sun is there to help you get started.
