This past week, many Second Life residents suddenly started creating accounts in Avatars United which is a Social Networking Website for Avatars. After the announcement of Linden Lab’s acquisition of Avatars United, Second Life residents, like Lemmings, started joining in.

I first joined Avatars United in 2008 but never really did anything in it except add a few Avatars from various MMORPGs and posted a couple of blog entries. In fact, if it wasn’t for Linden Lab’s acquisition and announcement then I would have totally forgotten that a Social Networking Website named Avatars United exist specially now that I’ve rediscovered Facebook. The practice of illegally copying or cloning objects in Second Life is a very big issue that should be taken seriously but there are merchants and creators specially in SLExchange who does not believe or do they care about this issue. In one thread, a creator and a merchant posted her case on content theft. She found one of her creations copied prim-per-prim and texture-per-texture and that can only be done by using a third party program. Fortunately, a DMCA complaint was filed with Linden Labs and it looked like the original creator won but what pissed me off is the fact that many argued that it isn’t possible and that CopyBot no longer exist.
An object owned by Korena Starbrook was copied and was being distributed for FREE! 
Okay, there might not be anymore CopyBot programs out there but you don’t need a program named CopyBot to copy objects in Second Life. All you need is LibSecondLife’s Test Client and you can get that by downloading and installing LibSecondLife. LibSecondLife is the heart of almost all text based Second Life viewers out there which are commonly known as SL Bots. (more…)

I’ve seen Wrestling Rings, Boxing Rings, Ancient Coliseums, Combat Arenas, Basketball Courts, and other sporting locations but this time I took a quick look at IBM’s Winbledon Tennis Court in Second Life.
What can I say? IBM did an amazing job at it. The tennis court looks amazingly real and it even has two dummy players playing on it. In fact, you can even be one of the dummies but right-clicking on one of them and then selecting Sit. Your avatar will then replace the dummy. Unfortunately, you can’t actually control what’s happening. You’ll just be a replacement for the dummy. LOL! (more…)

Yesterday, I found my little and very humble place in Second Life GONE! For no apparent reason (if there was any then I surely didn’t know about it), all my objects were returned to me. I asked Richard Palace about it by sending him an instant message which, unfortunately, he did not receive but, at least, now he knows about it.
Anyway, complaining (I’m not really complaining) about it will not return my objects back to their original places, so I spent a few hours today returning (almost) everything back to where they were before. Well, not exactly to where they were. You see, I kinda did a little rearranging of the place and I also removed some objects which I don’t really need and brought back the nature look. (more…)
