Second Life Paskong Pinoy Party (12/18/07, 8:30pm SLT)

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

As promised, I took paparazzi photos of the party. I teleported in at around 8:30 pm SLT. There were about 20 to 25 avatars there. Some names were familiar but many were not. Isadora Fiddlesticks said hello and I said hello back. After that, while rezzing, I searched for a spot where I can take my photos. LOL! I also need to hurry since we were already having lunch and my wife does not like to keep the food waiting.

I spent like 30 to 45 minutes taking snapshots of the party. I did not use Windlight to take my snaps because I’m quite sure it will lag, big time! After my photo taking session. I logged out and logged back in using a third party Second Life client and I even logged Kabalyero Kidd in.

Returning after lunch, I noticed that Kabalyero Kidd got logged out. I didn’t bother to log him back in and I kept Rom Ireton logged in using the 3rd party client and went back to my Real Life work. I was busy designing a wordpress blog template for a client and just stole some time to drop by and take photos. LOL!

Unfortunately, the client Rom Ireton was using crashed after a few minutes of working in Photoshop. I guess I ran out of memory again. I really need a new computer! LOL!

When I was there taking snapshots, one avatar really took my attention and that was Sylar Boyd who was sporting an ERAP look and he was waving furiously to the crowd. LOL! It was really funny! Standing next to him was the famous Shai Delacroix of Casa Del Shai.

Not too far from Shai Delacroix is the publisher and editor of HodgePodge Magazine and organizer of the event, Isadora Fiddlesticks. If you walk a few steps from them you’ll find Steve Hansen of HOMME Magazine dancing with Colleen Desmoulins.

DJ’ing the event was Tukso Okey and he was wearing a Pinoy Pride T-Shirt. I didn’t catch any of the songs he played because my streaming audio was off to reduce lag. LOL!

It was also very unfortunate that the Sploder didn’t work because the pot was very big. I think the pot was at 2,000L$. I joined twice but the sploder didn’t pay out and if it did then everyone would have gotten some big bucks from it.

Here is an incomplete list of avatars who attended the Paskong Pinoy Party. I compiled the list before I left for lunch. If anyone left or joined afterwards then they’ll won’t be in this list. Besides, I might not have seen everyone there but I’m sure Pinoy Second Life Millionaire Chino Yalin and her partner Cynara Cortes weren’t there.

Party Foods For Your Eyes

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

If you think about it, foods and drinks are not needed in Second Life because avatars don’t need to eat anything but I guess these objects are always good for adding some realism to your setup in-world. For example, I went back to visit the venue for the Paskong Pinoy event in Second Life and the first object I noticed on the buffet table is the Lechon.

Remember that the lechon is for display only. Do not touch or try to eat it. You might get an indigestion. LOL! Below are some of the other food display that caught the end of my camera.

There are more but if you want to taste (see) them then you’ll just have to be there on December 18, 2007 at 8:00pm SLT. I believe everyone is invited and don’t forget to inform other Pinoys in Second Life about it.

Winterfest 2007 Has Begun

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Actually, Winterfest 2007 started 2 days ago but today I went to visit Chalet Linden to get a HUD and Voss (which is just next to it) to take a look at the snowmen created at the Snowman Making Contest.

There are some people hanging out at Chalet Linden. At first, I thought that Chalet Linden is a name of a person or avatar but it’s not, it’s the name of the place. The Winterfest Kiosk is just near the landing point and touching it will give you Winterfest 2007 shirts and a HUD. You can use the HUD to visit the many places and events scheduled for Winterfest 2007.

[flickr]photo:2117356539(small)[/flickr][flickr]photo:2117259535(small)[/flickr]

Inside the lodge sat Santa Claus and I took the opportunity to sit on his lap and tell him what I want this Christmas. LOL! By the way, outside the lodge stands Miss Santa but I’m not sure if she is part of the attraction.

[flickr]photo:2118179704(small)[/flickr][flickr]photo:2117393901(small)[/flickr]

Just behind the lodge is Voss where the Snowman Making Contest was held. There you’ll see all the snowmen that were built in the contest. Right next to it is a platform leading to a cabin but before you get there you’ll see some nice displays like the Abominable Snowman and Dark Santa Claus.

Winterfest 2007 has just started and their are various activities and events which you can participate in. Just get a copy of the HUD and you’ll be on your way to a Very Merry Christmas in Second Life.

Paskong Pinoy Update

Sunday, December 16th, 2007

A new group notice regarding the event was sent today by Fooballer Balut. I was a little bit surprised about the announcement because it used the term Filipino Christmas Sim. Surprised and amazed. Wow! An entire sim?! Well, it’s not really an entire sim. My bad! LOL!

So, I dropped by to take a look at the place and there were two avatars there, Fooballer Balut and Maxene Lane. They were busy decorating the place. A lot of things were added since the last time I was there like there are now tables, chairs, food decorations (I call them decorations because you can’t actually eat them, LOL), benches and some other decorative stuff. Oh, there is also a Christmas Tree and I think that they’re also waiting for a lechon from someone which will be placed on the center portion of the buffet table.

[flickr]photo:2113944465[/flickr]

I was asked if I want to contribute anything but unfortunately I don’t have anything to contribute that would fit the theme of the event. Oh yeah, I forgot. I did contribute something, the Philippine Flag. I just hope they use it. LOL!

[flickr]photo:2113958263[/flickr]

I wasn’t very chatty when I was there because I was to busy tweaking my Windlight settings for my snapshots. LOL!

The event will be on December 18, 2007 at around 8:00pm SLT (Second Life Time). Hopefully, you might even meet some members of the Filipino Second Life Elite like Chino Yalin, Shai Delacroix, Cynara Cortes, Steve Hansen, mikaela Yifu and others (Honestly, I don’t know many of them. I just read some of their names from group chat and other places. LOL).

I will drop by to take paparazzi snaphots of these Filipino Second Life Celebrities and sell them to Second Life magazines like HodgePodge. LOL! *joke*
