I love running fishing marathons at my place because it bring people and, since it’s a marathon, I don’t have to stay and host it. I would just put the prizes in the Contest Prize Pot, start the Contest Board, continue on with what I’m doing and the contest will run itself. The marathons I run are usually 6 to 24 hours long and I always announce the format of the contest in my group by sending out a group notice at the start of any fishing marathons.
Unfortunately, people who didn’t understand the current format of the running contest would always complain after the contest. Some would ask nicely and are easy to communicate with but there are those who will curse and get mad when they are the one who didn’t understand. There were even times when I get instant messages that were all in capital letters and we all know that caps in chat is shouting and is considered not nice. (more…)
