A few days ago I had a chance to visit the City of Rome and I didn’t go to Italy to get there. LOL! The City of Rome is a new region under RPG Empire and it is connected to [The Roman Empire] region. If the information I got are correct then the City of Rome was once called Medevil England (Medieval England). I guess the Romans have finally conquered it for good and made it their own.

The Emperor of The Roman Empire
The entrance to the City of Rome clearly states that the region is strictly Role Play only. I don’t know how strict will this rule be enforced (coz’ I see a lot of Romans speak in OOC all the time) but as a visitor to the City of Rome and [The Roman Empire] it is best to follow the rules to avoid problems discomfort and drama! I was editing my Tiki Pavilions when I received an invite from the God of Rome, mikeD Streeter, to watch the Beast versus Gladiator Tournament at the Colosseum. He teleported me to where he was which at first I didn’t know where because everything was rezzing (appearing/loading) slowly. Well, [The Roman Empire] sim is a very active sim with lots of people coming in and out so it’s not surprising to experience some lag from time to time. Anyway, I wasn’t able to take snapshots of the Beast versus Gladiator Tournament but, fortunately, a second tournament quickly followed it. It was a standard Free For All Tournament with a total prize of 5,000L$.

The Arena floor became much smaller because of the Hole!
Hmmm, wait, it wasn’t just your everyday Free For All Tournament. You see, a big hole was opened in the middle of the Colosseum’s arena floor. Wow! That was the first time I’ve seen it and it was really big. Now, the fighters must fight around the hole’s edge and if they fall in they’re dead, at least for that round. Just like the Platform and the Cage, the Hole adds a another level of difficulty to the fight. If I was down there fighting, it will force me to enable rendering objects which I usually turn off when fighting. Now, fighting with objects visible adds to viewer lag which is bad for me because it lowers my frame rate. (more…)

Last week, the Emperor of Samurai Japan, Ronin McGinnis, stepped down as Emperor and left Samurai Japan. The reason why he left Samurai Japan and abandoned RPG Empire for good is still not clear to me since I do not involve myself in any form of politics within RPG Empire. One thing is clear though, many of his followers left with him.

Samurai Japan
I heard that they’ll be starting a Japan sim of there own. One that is not bounded by the Rules and Policies of RPG Empire. Where this new Japan sim will be located is still unknown to me and I also don’t know what its name is. (more…)

This week, I had the chance to visit mikeD Streeter’s latest Role Play region/sim in Second Life, the land called Samurai Japan. Obviously, Samurai Japan is a region greatly inspired by ancient Japan, although, I’m not particularly sure what time period was it actually based on but I can safely say that it’s based on a very old Japan. You know, that period in time when Samurais and Ninjas exist, where people live and die by the sword and where code and honor is above everything else.
I learned about Samurai Japan from a group announcement sent through The Roman Empire group (SL Roman Empire) which is also a owned by mikeD Streeter. The group notice contained a landmark that took me to Samurai Japan. (more…)

Today, I spent a few minutes at The Roman Empire region in Second Life to take a few video clips of the on-going Gladiator Fights. I used the video clips I took of the fight to create a simple music video which I then submitted to Koinup as an entry to their 1st. Second Life Music Videos Contest.
Well, the video featured the Gladiators of Rome and the on-going Gladiator Fights. I also took clips of the Cage Match but the cage didn’t fully rezzed which caused it to look really terrible so I didn’t put that in the video. (more…)
