Fun at the Harvest Faire

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

A few days ago Medieval England celebrated their first Harvest Faire (I think it was their first) and I was their to enjoy the festivities. The Harvest Faire was a two day all day event with games, prizes and barrels of ale for everyone to enjoy.

I was more of a spectator than a participant on the first day of the event. I spent most of my day just watching the games and taking snapshots of the activities. Unfortunately, some of my snapshots did not get uploaded. I was uploading my snapshots by sending them by e-mail to Flickr. Flickr then crossposted them to my Blogger blog but Flickr was not able to save a few of them. It must be because of lag or something. (more…)

Horse On A Stick

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Today (or was it yesterday), I met Johnnytreadlightly Nightfire. He is the owner of JTL Designs and creator of many medieval items like swords, armors, structures and more. In fact, I have one of his weapons, the Askold Warhammer (Horseback), and I’m saving some lindens to buy a standard version of the Hammer.

I found him sitting at the Wharf where we had a brief chat. He also showed me his newly created Horse On A Stick which is currently FREE at Medieval England. The horse is quite funny and it reminded me of my kids playing horsy with our broom or whatever stick they can find. If you want one then come down to Medieval England. It’s located at the Wharf just beside the big ship. (more…)

Medieval England’s Harvest Faire

Friday, October 17th, 2008

On October 18 and 19 (Saturday and Sunday), 2008 [RPG Empire]’s Medieval England will hold a Harvest Faire event. So, what is this Harvest Faire thing? Honestly, I am not familiar with it but I stumbled upon a Harvest Faire website and according to that website:

Harvest Faire is a modern interpretation of a late 15th century European fall harvest celebration and tournament. Entertainers and a market mix with the sounds of good-natured martial competition and the smells of period cooking. Watch a craftsperson plying their trade, try your hand at games of chance and skill, and cheer for the warrior of your choice at the Field of Honors. – HarvestFaire.org

Just like the real thing, Medieval England’s Harvest Faire will also feature games and tournaments like Jousting, Horse Racing and others. For a complete list of events please see the schedule below. (more…)
