Level Up in Rome and the New Gladiator Village

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

Finally, [The Roman Empire] has adapted the Levelling System of DCS2. What this means is, now you’ll be able to level up your characters in The Roman Empire. The higher your character’s level is, the more advantage you’ll get in combat and raids.  Of course, this system will not be implemented in Gladiator Fights to keep it fair I guess.

Standing around to gain experience needed to level up! LOL!

My current level in The Roman Empire is 1 and to increase it I need to gain more experience by winning fights with other players or by just standing around anywhere inside the sim. In fact, the Level System is a great way for the sim to gain huge amounts of traffic. How? Well, a player can just stand around in the sim all day long to gain experience (much like camping. I am thinking of doing that with my alt but I need to buy him a DCS2 meter first. LOL!

Fighting to gain experience is out of the question because I never win. He he he! (more…)

My Place In Second Life Is Back!

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Yesterday, I found my little and very humble place in Second Life GONE! For no apparent reason (if there was any then I surely didn’t know about it), all my objects were returned to me. I asked Richard Palace about it by sending him an instant message which, unfortunately, he did not receive but, at least, now he knows about it.

Anyway, complaining (I’m not really complaining) about it will not return my objects back to their original places, so I spent a few hours today returning (almost) everything back to where they were before. Well, not exactly to where they were. You see, I kinda did a little rearranging of the place and I also removed some objects which I don’t really need and brought back the nature look. (more…)

My Place, GONE!

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

I regularly login to my Second Life account to check my place at Scaramanga which I rent from Richard Palace of Palace Lands. Today, I logged in only to find my place GONE!

Yes, my place was gone, 3 Stars and a Sun was nowhere to be seen! I was greeted by a long list of messages telling me that my objects were returned to me. I was very surprised at what happened. I’m also confused because I have not received any messages from Richard Palace to why my objects were returned to me. (more…)

Update To My Little Philippines

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Last week, my very helpful landlord sent all my objects back to me. No, he was not evicting me but instead he was helping me with some problems on the land where my place is located. The problem was, while working on My Little Philippines, I tried to rez some grass by dragging it on the ground. The grass didn’t rez so I tried again and every time it didn’t rez I will try again and again. What I didn’t notice was that even though the grass didn’t rez it still used a prim bringing my prim number closer to the limit. This was clearly a bug and after trying everything we can my landlord suggested to clear the parcel of all my objects by returning them to me and then just rebuild or put everything back. At first I didn’t want to do it but because there was no other way I agreed to it.

All my objects were returned to me which cleared the land of all the objects including the bugged grass objects. I then started to put everything back. Putting the objects back wasn’t that difficult because when I got them they were already grouped so I just drag it back out of my inventory and, while everything was still selected, positioned it to its original place.

I also took the opportunity to update My Little Philippines by placing it inside my building and transforming it as the third level of the place.

I also moved some of the objects around and changed the Bahay Kubo. I’m almost out of prim but I still want to put some more objects in. I’ve also added a very simple Mini Monument of Rizal and on it is a “Proud To Be A Pinoy” Badge giver. If you touch it, you will be given a badge with the Philippine flag and the words “Proud To Be A Pinoy” on it.

I wanted to add some more objects like rocks, small plants and even animals to add more texture to the place but because of my prim limit I can’t. Anyway, I’m happy with the place and have set the landing point there.

It may not be the most amazing place or location in Second Life but it is my home and I love it! ;)

Digital Photo Frame? Nice Idea!

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Call me a caveman but this is the first time I’ve heard of these things and I think it’s a cool idea, digital photo frame.

I guess this is for people who have tons or gigabytes of digital photos all stored away in discs like myself. I have like, hundreds of CDs with family photos in them. I’d like to display all of them but printing high quality photos is a little bit expensive but I did print some of the really good ones.

With a digital photo frame, I guess you don’t need to print all your photos. You just copy them into a memory card, stick it in the digital photo frame, turn it on and, voila, your photos are ready for display and viewing. By they way, it does not only display photos, it can also play your favorite movie clips and have sounds or background music too. Preferences and settings are adjusted through a remote control.

Digital Photo Frame

Being able to display or show your photos or movie clips anywhere in your home or office is a cool idea and if price is not a problem for you then give this baby a try.

Hey wait, with this you’ll also be able to display all your beautiful Second Life photos and I’m sure many of you got 1 or 2 in-world photos you’d really like to display. I know I am! ;)
