New Suit for only 600L$

Sunday, December 9th, 2007

Now that I have some new hairs, I thought that I should compliment it with a new suit. For my new suit, I still prefer it to be Philippine inspired and there is only one place I know in Second Life that has Philippine inspired suits and that is Casa De Shai. The suit I bought is named the Luna Suit which I assumed was named after two of my country’s great heroes, Antonio and Juan Luna, and it cost only 600L$.

The snapshot was taken at Mt Kiribati, Irukandji National Park using the latest Windlight viewer. I think it looks nice even though it wasn’t enhanced by Photoshop or any graphics/image/photo editor.

The suit worked well with the hairs except for one, the Lajon Hair Sytle, but still I’m very happy with it. Maybe next month I’ll buy a new suit and I’m thinking of another Barong would be nice.

Contest Entry

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

I wasn’t doing anything important this morning so I decided to give the VPRS Kiosk Kontest a try. Besides camping and exploring, I am also an aspiring builder (we can dream right?) and this kind of contest is a great learning tool and a great way to exercise and develop some skills.

My idea for the Kiosk is to make it really simple and to use a maximum of only 5 prims. I already have a picture of the Kiosk in my mind so after putting together some basic shapes I was able to complete the frame of the kiosk. The next thing I did is create the textures. Using Photoshop and some Stock Photos, I was able to create the textures I needed for the kiosk, so, I logged back in and applied the textures I made to the kiosk. The end product looked like this:

Kiosk

The kiosk I made uses a log as base with wooden boards for the signs. Almost all of the textures are custom made except for the piece of wood that’s holding the big poster board.

Kiosk

It is only 5 prims and if you remove the big poster board then it will only be 3 prims.

The advantage of having a high prim build is that you can have more details, the disadvantage is that you’ll use more prims. With a low prim build, you can use textures to simulate the details you need. For my kiosk, I think I used 5 custom textures. 3 for the boards and 2 for the log.
