100,000L$ Per Month

Whoa! That’s like $350 USD per month! The contest is titled “Second Life and the Public Good: A Community Challenge” by the USC Network Culture Project.

The USC Network Culture Project invites the residents of Second Life to imagine new ways that virtual worlds such as Second Life can be used to make a contribution to the public good.

We are currently accepting proposals from groups, organizations, or individuals for projects that show how Second Life can enhance, develop, or sustain the public good. The best submissions will be selected based on how well they demonstrate the significance of virtual worlds for making an impact on society or culture.

Up to three finalists will be selected by community vote. The finalists will be provided with a $100,000L per month building stipend (and land, if required) for three months to execute their proposal. The projects will be showcased in Second Life at the State of Play conference to be held in Chicago, October 2008.

200 Linden Dollars From Indyra Originals

Last month I received 200 linden dollars (L$) from Indyra Originals for adding its location to my Profile Picks. This month, I went back to Indyra Originals and, again, I was paid 200 linden dollars. In fact, as long as the program is offered, I’ll be paid 200 linden dollars by Indyra Originals every month only if I keep its location added to my Profile Picks. (more…)

Earn2Life + Your Profile Picks = Linden Dollars

Earn2Life just added a new way for everyone to earn Linden Dollars and that is by simply adding Earn2Life’s Office to your Profile Picks. Adding locations to Profile Picks and getting paid for it is a new (well not so new) way to earn linden dollars. It is popularly known as Profile Picks Camping and it started when Linden Labs changed Second Life’s in-world search feature. You see the new search takes into consideration the number of residents that added a certain location to their Profile Picks. If you have a place in Second Life then the more people that add your place to their Profile Picks the better your placement will be in the search results. That is why many locations in Second Life are starting to join the Profile Picks Camping bandwagon. (more…)
