2010 Winter Olympics Fishing Rod

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

For those fishing at 3 Stars and a Sun, my virtual place in Second Life, I just want to let you know that I have added a new Custom Fishing Rod in the Custom Prize Givers. The new custom fishing rod is an Olympic Themed custom fishing rod named 2010 Winter Olympics Fishing Rod.

2010 Winter Olympics Fishing Rod

This particular custom fishing rod is not a SUR (SuperUltraRare) like most of my custom fishing rods. This fishing rod is a craftable custom fishing rod which means you will have to catch the parts (salvages and blueprint) needed to build or craft it. Don’t worry, the parts needed to build or craft it are either Common, Uncommon and Rare. (more…)

SL Residents Uniting In Avatars United

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

This past week, many Second Life residents suddenly started creating accounts in Avatars United which is a Social Networking Website for Avatars. After the announcement of Linden Lab’s acquisition of Avatars United, Second Life residents, like Lemmings, started joining in.

I first joined Avatars United in 2008 but never really did anything in it except add a few Avatars from various MMORPGs and posted a couple of blog entries. In fact, if it wasn’t for Linden Lab’s acquisition and announcement then I would have totally forgotten that a Social Networking Website named Avatars United exist specially now that I’ve rediscovered Facebook. Responsible CryoLife Users Exist?!

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Did you know? Responsible CryoLife users exist in the virtual world of Second Life. Well, at least that is how I understand what one commenter said in defense of his use of CryoLife. Basing from his comment, responsible CryoLife users like this person use CryoLife as a defense against griefing or griefers and for circumventing Second Life’s permission system by removing or getting rid off the “no copy” status from items thus making them copiable.

For those of us who have legit uses for it (especially recoloring your avatar) it’s a life saver. Or to get rid of no copy status from clothing items so you’re not forced to risk ruining them.

Awesome! Circumventing Second Life permission system is, undeniably, a very responsible use of CryoLife. Wait! Items in Second Life can only be either No Copy/Transfer or Copy/No Transfer not both, right? So, if you get rid of the No Copy status then you are making the item Copy which will make it Copy/Transfer, right? Isn’t that almost like Semi-Full Perms already and why stop there? Why not get rid of the No Mod status too and make it Full Perms? Oh, I forgot, this person is a  responsible CryoLife user and because he is responsible a status of Copy/Transfer on an originally No Copy item is good enough for him/her. Isn’t it AWESOME? Making No Copy items Copy! WOOOHOOO! A lot of people will surely like that kind of responsible use of CryoLife. (more…)

Step Up? Content Creators Against Content Theft

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

The tools for stealing content in Second Life become more and more advance each passing day. It started with text only clients which are really not that easy to use to the current ones which are full SL viewers that makes stealing content as easy as clicking a button. Before, all you can steal are baked textures and prim objects but now almost anything can be stolen (textures, sounds, scripts and even animations).

I still remember when many forum posters in the now closed XstreetSL.com forum deny the existence of CopyBot. Going as far as attacking those who became victims of it and were starting threads about it. They kept saying that it doesn’t exist. Well, for something that doesn’t exist it sure is getting a lot of attention lately. (more…)

Second Life’s Age Verification Made Easy

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Today Linden Labs released the latest version of their viewer for Second Life and, that’s not all, they also launched their newest continent, Zindra. Zindra is an Adult rated continent accessible to those residents who age verified their Second Life accounts. If your account is not Age Verified as an adult then you won’t be able to visit Zindra.

Age Verified

The Age Verification process is quite easy to do but, still, many residents are getting a hard time age verifying their accounts. If you are one of those that are having some difficulty age verifying your account using your real life information then here is an easy way to get age verified. (more…)
