My castle, which is located in the Animate Me Poseballs sim, has three levels. The dungeon, the main area and the throne room. The throne room is like my personal space. the main area is where all my vendors and affiliate vendors are placed and the dungeon was once a place where I put freebies. Now, since I don’t have that much freebies to giveaway, I decided to change the dungeon into something else.
The idea of changing the dungeon into a fishing area just came out of nowhere. I then went to build a very simple fishing pool with 8 chairs around it and placed it in my dungeon. If King Arthur has “The Round Table” in his castle then in my castle I have “The Round Fishing Pool”.
Even, after placing a 7Seas Vendor, a 7Seas Contest Board and a Tip Aquarium, my Fishing Dungeon still feels empty. It feels like it needed some things around it. At first, I thought of placing affiliate vendors around the room so that if I decided to do a fishing event there then I might even get a few sales from it. I thought that it was a very nice idea until I remembered that the sim belongs to mikeD Streeter and instead of filling the room with affiliate vendors, why not fill the room with images from RPG Empires. I felt that it was a much better idea than the affiliate vendors so I contacted RPG Empires Estate Manager, Jackie Balbozar, and requested some photos of the various empires from her. I then placed the photos inside the many framed prims which I’ve already placed around the room. I also asked her the posters for each empire (I got four posters) and I placed those as well. The posters are not just posters, they also act as a landmark/notecard giver. I also made an RPG Empires sign and placed it around the room as well. That particular sign is also a landmark giver.
Because of real life obligations, I managed to finish the fishing dungeon after a couple of days and to inaugurate to completion of my Fishing Dungeon I hosted a fishing event on it. Unfortunately, not very many people came maybe because the prizes of 100L$ for first, 50L$ for second and 25L$ for third weren’t big enough to encourage fishers to come but still a few fishers came and the fishing event continued.
It was a very relax contest because I was mostly just chatting with the participants. I think they just came to enjoy fishing with other people and the prize money wasn’t that important to them.
Anyway, I plan to hold more fishing events in my Fishing Dungeon but for the meantime, I’m busy joining various fishing contest to get money to fund my own contest but the problem is, I find myself spending it all on baits. LOL!
Again, if you want to learn how to fish in Second Life or if you just want to try it then just drop by Kabalyero Kidd’s Castle anytime you like.
